Clothing Found With Chandra's Body (Condit-Levy)

When Chandra's body was found on May 22, we started getting a list of clothing items supposedly found with it: sweat shirt, sweat pants, who knows what all. When I and other posters pointed out that she could never have been wearing all this at one time, the official list condensed to say that what was found was: spandex tights, T-shirt, panties, tube-type exercise bra, and ordinary sneakers (not running or specialty shoes). This at least brought it down to what might be worn at the same time.
However, it raised other questions. This is what someone might wear while working out on the weight machines in a gym [and oddly enough she was last seen, by the official time line, at a gym 2 blks from her apt] but one would NEVER jog or go on a long walk in spandex tights, and this seems a little chilly for 4/30 in DC unless in the very warmest part of the day.
BTW none of these clothes were said to be "worn" or ON the body, but just thrown out near it in a random fashion, and now the Enquirer says the tights were found around a tree clear up on the flatter area near the (official, maintained) West Ridge Trail in RCP!
We have seen speculation all along that Chandra maintained clothing at Gary's apartment, or her own, but that was all neatly packed by someone, in bags ready to leave, when her apt was searched 5/6/01. Only a few things left in drawers or closet.
It is totally non-credible that Chandra would have gone out to meet Gary, or to lunch with friends, or even to a bank or shopping, in the attire found on the slope in Rock Creek Park.
Even AT the gym, would she not have showered and changed back into something more street-worthy before going home?
I am wondering if these items, assuming what was found is only what we are now told, were WHAT SHE HAD IN A LOCKER AT THE GYM, to use just there while working out and then changed out of.
For a year, we were told that on Monday evening 4/30/01 she checked out of the gym and terminated her membership, saying she would soon move back to California. Suddenly about a month ago I began to see it said that the 4/30 transaction as evidenced by a receipt found in her apartment [virtually the ONLY thing found there: the apt had been sanitized and wiped clean of fingerprints]--showed Chandra not as having terminated, but as having PAID FOR ANOTHER MONTH--ie May, and thus continued her membership. Which is it? We are being told two stories. If the new story is true, was she really even planning to leave DC at ALL?
It has struck me that, if someone who was throwing out her bones (body, corpse) in Rock Creek Park had only a nude body, whether fresh or decomposing, and wanted to set it up to look like she had been attacked there...and this was after May 16, when all of Chandra's clothes had been taken by her parents...Where on earth could the perp get anything of hers? Answer: How about the contents of her gym locker, this one outfit she wore there while working out. [It was said that Gary and Dayton were also members of this gym.]
That might also account for the fact her name was sewn into certain seams...

Hunters carry deer out of the woods all the time. I am sure one could be carried into the woods.

just a "quick" FYI....quicklime IS NOT MINED therefore you can't run by a mine and borrow some....it is manufactured...and the amount needed to do what you are talking about is in the neighborhood of 400 pounds...preferably more
To: Plummz
IMHO the frozen body was dumped out from a vehicle and hurriedly run into the woods ( two or more guys and vehicle returned for a pick up) and tossed over the bank in a frozen condition...more time w/o the powerful stench....at that point, a relatively warm winter and crows and animals and bacteria etc did the job of skeletonizing the remains........and Plummz, I am a biochemist at a large university...your mind and heart are in the right place! The price of FREEDOM is ETERNAL VIGILANCE , even when it's inconvenient , a pain in the ass and contrary to popular fashion's spin

Pegita, I swear I believe Carolyn and Gare together did the number on Chandra ( she was preggers? and told Carolyn so ?) . "Care" and "Gare" liked the gravy train....and maybe the fog is due to the fact that Gare is the accomplice and planner with Carolyn ( and Lynch and Darryl etcetcetc)as the actual Lieutenant who manages the entire murder while Gare draws attention and provides a schoolboy alibi for the whole bunch....thus his arrogance, he "actually" was not there... just a co-conspirator...It is definitely a cover-up at all levels when the murder hasn't even been investigated....show me one real piece of investigation that has been done....don't bother with two month later perfunctory searches and questions written by the questioned....this thing stinks of privilege and cover-up....look hard at Carolyn and the timeline for which I thank you.

Perhaps she knows something we don't?

You're welcome, and I agree that Carolyn didn't want to see those 34 years (now 35) go down the drain, so to speak.

Yes, I know -- and the factories are near the mines in the Luray area. Bribes and/or wire-cutters in the dead of night would be a help in obtaining materials. [But as I said, I've been backing off the lime/cave theory(ies).]

Yeah, I've never ruled out Carolyn as a major player, though I haven't usually included her in my working theses.

There are no plants making quicklime anywhere near Luray that I have ever heard of....NO LIME !!!! Lime is just oyster shells !! It is the stuff in calcium enriched orange juice !!! It is not a corrosive...
To: chemainus
" working theses" = notions and speculation....theses require several levels of experimental or historical data fitting the hypothesis ( which is several levels above a notion) before being called a thesis or theory
To: chemainus
I conceded that it wasn't a corrosive earlier in the thread. I'm fairly certain there are plants in that area, but I think that's from old FR posts which I suppose could be misinformation.

Oh, I've got all sorts of data; I've read most everything published on the case. The Luray dump has slowly been working its way out of my working hypothesis since the bones were found.
You are free to employ whatever terminology you wish regarding notions, etc.

So do you think it was a much more informal thing than we've been hitting around? "CARE" and "GARE" have a problem that matters; to wit: both without any skills whatsoever are in danger of being kicked off the gravy train....."CARE" comes in and agrees with "GARE" that this can't be...."GARE" has so much stuff on Lynch and Darryl and maybe others he tells "CARE" that he's sure they can be made to do it because it's their gravy train too...."CARE",having brooded on her failure in life with "GARE" to do anything but con ignorant DIMOCRAT farmers out of their votes by playing good ole' boy and girl "GARE" and "CARE",in order to sup at the gravy trough, and being more cunning and holding misplaced anger sees a target and tells "GARE" that she will orchestrate the plan, she does , he agrees, it is realized the attention will be focused on "GARE" while "CARE" manages the stooges to kill Chandra , so "GARE" is instructed to make some wide drives in opposite directions in a loop and use a phone so it can be traced as an alibi ...the rest is history except for the spin from the beginning " like implying then going along with the 'no thumbs' then putting on the much-maligned face and evoking pity for poor poor "CARE"". This woman is of about the same class as Hillary and "GARE" is about as low as Slick the Impeached....they make a cute set of couples and say a lot about what's in Washington, D.C.

The problem is that Gary really has no alibi from about 1-6:30 pm on May 1, 2001. It keeps coming back to that for me, and it's why I think he's the perp. If it wasn't for that huge hole in his timeline, I'd be more willing to look at gay Haitian bikers, sheiks, The League of Gentlemen, assorted hitmen, Carolyn, and aides. But the hole is there, so there it is.

Concur. Condit's alibi is Mikey. He says they were together that afternoon. Which is true. Hiding that body 100 yards up a 45 degree slope was clearly a two-man job.

What's your take on the Luray angle?

Don't really have one. It's just one of those suspicious things to throw in the pot. It seems pretty clear that Chandra was planning to go to Rock Creek Park -- whether by invitation, or of her own initiative. Now, her body shows up there. The simplest explanation is that she met her end there. It seems to me that any more elaborate plan involving moving the body much later, perhaps in a decayed state, would increase the probability of tainting the body with forensic evidence. Just leaving the body in the park would be the best bet for having the murder written off as a random killing. The same general strategy worked out very well for the Chiang killing. I think Gary got over-confident, after that one went so smoothly. He hadn't counted on Chandra blabbing to her aunt. That's why he blew his cool with the watch thing and the Luray trip, is my guess.

I had been playing with the idea that it wasn't the perp but someone(s) else who may have moved the body -- someone(s) who conveniently timed its discovery as a warning to The League of Gentlemen et al.
But the discovery could have been timed such if the body was there the whole time as well, I suppose.
Some of the connections that have come to light about the Shenendoah Valley being an ancestral Condit home and whatnot may lead me to believe he bugged out to that area for a meeting with his brain trust/cabal/whatever when he got panicky -- that could be an explanation.

Into the mix, add
she ... one or more.
Susie Borges Rossi, regarding her affair with Condit from 1988-1991, told the National Enquirer that Condit had a "fix-it" team in case he died during an encounter. Susie was to call the woman, a staffer, at his private number. She would know which documents in his office to destroy.
