Prosecutors are set to indict the congressman on charges that he has tried to stymie the investigation into Chandra's disappearance and death, sources close to the investigation have revealed.
What's more the sources say several pieces of evidence have convinced investigators that Condit is linked to Chandra's murder.
The issue that goes on sale Friday reveals what happened when Condit appeared before a Federal Grand Jury.

Did the Tabloids report that about the Clintons?

I already summarized this article yesterday in
this post.

Thanks, I didn't see that-we need all the possible clues we can find.

I think they might have some difficulty convicting him of obstruction unless they have evidence that we are not aware of. Condit was under no legal obligation to talk to the police nor to allow a search of his appartment without a warrant. If they are pointing to his stupid attempt to toss a watchbox in a trash dumpster, they will have to prove that the watch is directly related to Chandra Levy's death, not just to a series of affairs. Intimidating the redhead also seems inconsequential. It would be a he said/she said plus to give it any meaning they would almost have to have evidence that Condit committed the murder. I dont think he out and out lied to the investigators in the meetings he had with them. He may not have been completely candid but then he didnt need to talk. Did I forget something? I dont see how the prosecutors could get him.

You may have a point, I don't remember specifically. Do you know?

I think the watch box is the smoking gun. It was a Chandra gift and had identifying marks all over it.

I am so pessimistic about DC politicians taking care of one another that I am pleased if anything is charged against Condit.

Amen to that, if he is indicted is that enough to throw him off the intelligence committee? I don't know - just hoping we could win every now and then.

Knowing Congress, this might not be enough to throw him off the Intel Committee!

The next source will probably be the Washington Post or the NY Times. I hope you were suggesting that these two rags are on a par with Nat'l Enquirer.

No, usually how this goes is that the Tabloids break the story and soon after the Washington Compost gets a mysterious 'leak' since the story is altready out.

Well, now I need to know more about Arnie's marriage.

I just heard on the radio that a new bone of Chandra's (shin bone, I think they said) was just found some 30 yards from the original site of discovery.

Great screen name LOL
To: all
The discovery was yesterday, by two Levy family investigators, former D.C. cops (isn't Ted Williams working for the Levys?) It
was the shinbone, and it was found 25 yards from where Chandra's skull was found. Here's a
link.

That's an old cover from when Flaminni sold The Globe pictures form a biker rally Condit attended.

Now, now, let's not get too judgemental. Chief Ramsey and his band of incompetent merry men have tried real hard throughout this investigation to protect Gary Condit... I mean, to search for Chandra's remains and find her killer. Just because they overlooked part of her leg doesn't mean that they had the eyes closed the entire time they searched the park...

I think the watch box is the smoking gun. It was a Chandra gift and had identifying marks all over it. I thought it had already been established that the watch was given to Condit by a former staffer he was having an affair with and not Chandra?
