The black gang that assaulted me with baseball bats in the fall of '96 did it in Landover, in PG County. The three PG County cops who came to the scene -- one white and two blacks -- clearly all believed the attack was racially motivated. The gang had attacked me without provocation, and they made no attempt to take anything from me. They just beat me and kicked me.

I would of made such a stink if something like that happened to me. I would of marched into the prosecutor's office and told them I would not leave unless they did something. They would of had to press charges or had the police physically remove me from their office.

This case above sort of reminds me of the Kevin Shiflett murder in Alexandria. No mention of a possible hate crime here as well. Remember, poor little Kevin Shiftlett was attacked and murdered by a black guy with a knife. He was playing in his yard and without provacation this man stabbed him to death. Witnesses heard him yell racial slurs as he was stabbing Kevin. The media or police never questioned whether this was a hate crime or not.

They almost got me at the Landover Mall, but I out ran them. I guess that's why Landover Mall is closing, and all of the major stores have left PG county. Now as a VA resident I don't have to worry, I pack a little heat, and stay out of MD.
