Both. It took six interviews to get them to begin telling the truth, and my guess is that we don't have it all yet.

Six interviews, where they lied and denied to the police, while some of their other "party-goers"--mind you, their children were not missing, yet the so-called parents of Danielle would not be straight with the police, not even to save their daughter.

Six interviews! And they continued to lie on the witness stand at the ph, and now Damon has been caught in yet a few more at the trial.

These people you feel such sympathy for are pure, unadulterated evil. They are victims of nothing. Their daughter was first the victim of her parents, and then the victim of her killer. And I have not yet ruled out the possibility that they are one and the same--parents and killer.

Lurking but also had to pipe up: what you, miz, and doughty have all said is correct, and consider this: the parents turned their home into a college fraternity not a stable child rearing environment. I went to a fraternity party once where a a gang bang took place on some poor drunk freshman girl, I never knew it was happening because there was so much commotion. How could mr. vd possibly be counted on to know and do the normal dad thing when he lived like a frat rat, and a miscreant one at that. V's wife.

Look at that picture of Damon covering his mouth. I read a book on lying, and one of the (several) signs a person is lying is when they speak with their hand covering their mouth.

Actually, it's easy to tell when Damon is lying...his lips are moving.

The Forensic Dentist said there was no evidence of trauma to the root system. So they could have been removed by animals. The good Dr. didn't really change his testimony from the PH, and fall in line.

When I heard how many interviews it took to begin getting at the truth, I was shocked. These parents had just found their daughter missing. It was imperative that the police know everything if they were to find her at all. Yet they lied through their teeth, withheld important information--their daughter was not as important as other things in their lives, apparently! Maybe they were afraid they'd have to miss their next "pizza" party??

Hoosier, that is horrible! Since making the now infamous statement...I've had freepmails and other commments generally describing what you said, which basically made me modify my belief about it..that even the best behaved kids can be terribly abused. (goldenstate girl helped a lot too)I was shocked to hear it cuz after working in a domestic violence shelter..I've seen the behaviour of kids who have had their lifes ruined..and it's not the same as the kids you have described. The only thing I can think of to explain it is that some parents who abuse their kids teach them well on how to behave in public and others don't. using my own experiences is why I wrote that. I've witnessed kids not minding, being overly hyper, craving positive attention, being transferred to 22 different schools by the age of 9.. they wind up having a terrible time trusting people.

Oh, good grief. I suppose lying under oath is acceptable to you? Feldman is allowed to show that Damon apparently doesn't know the truth if it hits him in the rear.

Their actions on the day of the disappearance are relevant. And many reasonable people believe that their lifestyle may have had something to do with the crime. Do you have PROOF that it "had zip to do with the crime"?

I can't BELIEVE some of the statements made recently. Why bother with a trial? Just fry DW and you can all go back to your comfortable lives. SOME of us would like to be CERTAIN that the RIGHT person gets fried.

How many times on these threads do you think I've conjured up a theory about what they will find, won't find or what might have happened? I won't do it do it very often. It's hard to defend because we don't know everything the police knows. That is not unreasonable. I was under the impression that evidence is always exchanged between defendant and victim, (hence my shock at that statement) and this entire time I that the gag order prevented us from learning what was gathered from the VD home...

The van Dams deliberately withheld crucial and vital information to the police. We have been asking "WHY"? for months.

The acting out children, those are the easy ones to spot. The difficult ones are the Dr's kids (Some in my family), the preacher's kids (from our local church), the honor students (one graduated this week, I know the details because, well just because).

"Acting out" children are usually trying to tell us something. Those who don't act out are sometimes damaged so deep it doesn't show! Yes, they learn, though a hit or worse, what is and isn't acceptable behavior "IN PUBLIC" and

the rest is "NOBODY'S BUSINESS"! A typical phrase in an abusive home.
