POST 133 BUMP!!!
To: alisasny
The exact same things can be said about DW, except there is no evidence that HE broke drug laws.
To: MizSterious
Alot of men also like "cheerleader" porn but that does not make them pedophiles or incestious.
To: alisasny
Well, then the jury will be breaking the law. He has the RIGHT not to testify, with NO presumptions being made.
To: MizSterious
I also do not understand the people who say, "they didn't 'deserve' to lose their daughter." Actually, they did. The daughter--and both young sons--should have been removed from the home long ago by the authorities. You are right..
To: FresnoDA
I should have mentioned in #133--the first thing the van Dams did was get a P.R. firm. The second thing they did, almost immediately after that, was hire an attorney.
Not a criminal defense attorney, as one would suspect (often parents are the first suspects in these things), but a "litigation" lawyer.

You asked What does a child think when they find dad kissing a woman other this their mother? Do they think that it's okay because they've grown up seeing that over and over?, I too am curious as to if they've ever gotten "caught" doing any of the admitted behaviours by the kids..Kim trust me they know
To: alisasny
You do realize, don't you, that what you say about "a lot of men" could equally apply to Westerfield, who, in his collection of porn, had only 100 that were considered illegal (and even the police expert said none were prepubescent), while all the others were large-chested women? Doesn't that strike you as odd, that he'd have only 100 of "young girls" (not necessarily children, from the testimony) but all the rest were of adult women?
To: alisasny
Their lifestyle choice does not suggest pedophilia incest and infanticide. And pot does not cause one to be violent.Their lifestyle choice suggests consensual swinging with other adults and a bit of drinking and pot smoking to loosen inhibitions.
INTERPRETATION: One Vote for William Jefferson Blythe Clinton....
Hey, it's no big deal....they just like to do a little partying....
And the kids don't get in the way....most of the time!!!
You just have to reverse some door locks, feed um' pizza, and buy um' an X-Box.....
Those little rascals will take care of themselves, all night long....
And let me tell you, once you put them to bed........
BANG......!!!
They are out like a light....
sarcasm/full on still

What this whole thing case, and the comments, says to me from the defense side is "Members of the jury, the forensic evidence shows that my client killed this little girl, but don't convict him because her parents were bad people." Am I missing a connection here? Who's on trial?

Boy, I can't wait to hear Feldman question BVD. One of his questions will surely be: "Did you feel uncomfortable having Barb Easton around Danielle?"...he was certainly leading up to this with DVD.

To: Quila
That's NOT what Feldman said.
He said forensic science will prove his client could not have possibly killed the child.

You probably know me by now...I do like to have proof..(hey I am from the show-me state) but I will give you the benefit of the doubt cuz you're not irrational. :) I'm not being sarcastic..
To: demsux
Yeah, but apparently the objection will be sustained. And if the matter was resolved at the sidebar or in chambers and the judge has ruled it inadmissible, Feldman can't even ask the question of Brenda.

I wasn't posting when "EricOKC " did, but I did go back and glance through the older threads..that was a shock I'm telling ya. Ya gots to admit, it must not have been easy to admit that kind of lifestyle, especially on FR!

You're welcome...

Yeah, but apparently the objection will be sustained. And if the matter was resolved at the sidebar or in chambers and the judge has ruled it inadmissible, Feldman can't even ask the question of Brenda.I didn't hear that objection. I thought the only thing that Mudd threw out was the info. about the Halloween party.

No there's probably more truth to the statement. KA is it's own world, per a local LEO.

You asked about the lifestyle issue. As Kim points out, that matter has been extensively litigated pretrial. In fact, that info is undoubtedly available here on FR thanks to Frez' copious research and posting of links to all pretrial pleadings and rulings filed in the case. The judge set parameters, and I don't see him being reversed over it. He is trying to be fair to both sides -- to let Feldman argue that there's many others who at least had opportunity to commit this crime vs. the argument that the parents are not the ones on trial. Sorry, I agree with the judge the evidence is relevant. But I disagree with many here in their conclusions and speculations about who else might have done it. Unless Feldman can show me a really shoddy police investigation, I'm going to conclude the evidence points to DW because DW did it. And I sure as heck am not buying without a lot of supporting evidence the ever-popular cry of most every criminal ever tried -- "I wuz framed!"
