DAMAGE
In a stunning U-turn for the Bush administration, the United States has sent a climate report to the United Nations detailing "specific and far-reaching effects" that it says "global warming will inflict" on the American environment.

Also for the first time -- the White House places "most of the blame for recent global warming on human actions -- mainly the burning of fossil fuels that send heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere," the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Monday Page Ones, according to publishing sources.

Plausible explanation. My comment wasn't aimed at you personally.

"...state of distrust and anger and invective and opposition to the White House is the norm. "
Nothing could be healthier.
Sorry, you fail the mental health questionnaire.

Well, now that the Bush Administration, basically, has said that in fact Al "Earth in the Balance" Gore was right on this global warming thing and auto emissions and all,
I guess that means we elected the wrong guy to office considering that, with yet another Bush-U-Turn towards the (barbed) left, and in particular on this issue, then Bush was up until now wrong on the issue, and so I suppose if the Bushies are saying in effect Al Gore was right all along it would have probably have made sense to elect the guy who had it right all along instead of wrong?Right?
Or maybe this is another Bush secret plan, that we just don't understand the big picture yet, but just trust Bush on this one - it all has to do with our war on (Islamic) terrorism or something. Don't worry, the Bushies will explain it all to us shortly so that we can be in on the "turn of the card" that Bush has up his sleeve on this one - don't worry, it's all part of a game plan to legerdemain the libs at their own game to defeat terrorism through political correctness, and, after all, if we get rid of oil and gas and automobiles and stuff, we won't have to rely on those Arab countries for all that oil. Get it? And, the bottom line is, as the Buffalo Bush Administration is now saying, global warming is caused by humans, you can forget about drilling for oil in the frozen tundra because the idea isn't to find more oil that feeds those autos, the idea is to go back to a world lit only by fire.

That's it! It's a secret plan! I am sure we will all be advised in good time to what this plan really is.

This thread has been a perfect showcase for the factions on the Right that can't stand being in power. They self destruct and get chased around by a media tail, which in the next breadth, will use to to scream "liberal media"!!The NY Times lies, period. It is operated by dummies. And enough here on FR want so badly to believe they are being hosed, that they swallow such shit because they want and need it so .It's the loser's mentality, and even gets more smug when losing even worse. One good thing though should be the permanent discrediting of Matt Drudge as a reliable news source. He's a hack like the rest of them.
