U-TURN: BUSH ADMIN OUTLINES 'GLOBAL WARMING' EFFECTS ON AMERICA; ACKNOWLEDGES DAMAGE

DAMAGE

In a stunning U-turn for the Bush administration, the United States has sent a climate report to the United Nations detailing "specific and far-reaching effects" that it says "global warming will inflict" on the American environment.

MORE

Also for the first time -- the White House places "most of the blame for recent global warming on human actions -- mainly the burning of fossil fuels that send heat-trapping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere," the NEW YORK TIMES is planning to report on Monday Page Ones, according to publishing sources.

Why is it that any FReeper worth his or her salt will question LEFT-LEANING news sources, but will swallow any story DRUDGED up, or RUSHed to airtime? Don't you understand it's about ratings? Truth and accuracy are casualties of an infowar.

As for what the Bush Administration REALLY did, said, or implied: I'll withhold judgement, at least until we get the information straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak. That's infinitely preferable to waving the latest rumor as gospel, only to backpedal frantically when the story starts really smelling like a demoRAT.

Thanks for sharing. Now tighten up your time line a bit, so that you can lock horns with matters that are actually at issue.

The timeline is precisely the issue because global weather patterns happen on a millenial scale. Even hundred year weather patterns that fluctuate one way or the other even out over time, revealing the underlying trends.

The Global Warming Chicken Littles are jumping to conclusions from questionable data and small samples. It's like trying to forecast the stock market based on a week's results as reported by the nightly news.

Actually I have no opinion on this issue. Rush Limbaugh simply was unable to persuade me as to the negative. I can't imagine why that was.

Haven't listened to Rush much lately, so I'm not up to speed on what he was trying to negate.

I'm flagging a few of the more science-minded Freepers who I'm sure will have more info at their disposal than I.

Did you follow along with some of the other posts on the Ozone thread the other day?

The Ozone crisis is a hoax, and so is human-induced Global Warming.

Gee Thanks. I just heard that the Sierra Club and Greenpace want airbags mandated on stagecoaches. Next to be banned will be bicycles. My God, did I really vote for this idiot in the White House?

Global warming is a lie and a fraud and you are either ignorant or evil for promulgating this - which are you?

We are all born in sin. Therefore, you and I are evil. I am saved, but evil. How about you?

Both of us are ignorant. You read a petition, and there are other petitions signed by other scientists that say otherwise. To pretend you have studied all the studies and done research in this field yourself, makes you a fraud and no more knowledgeable than I am.

Keep your head at least and stop making ridiculous and wild accusations.

The source alone is enough to cause me to pause.

As it should. But that's not to say the administration won't take the opportunity to agree with it in hopes of taking back the senate. Think really devious.

One has to cope with a state of scientific uncertainty and odds and consequences, and parsing consequences as to whom when. It is not something for the superficial type to successfully come up with the optimal objective function. I readily admit I don't have a clue myself. But naive me, I trust Bush not to go unjustifiably off the deep end on the anti- development side. One can't be an expert on everything. In the end, one must decide whom one trusts, and whom one doesn't, on issues that one cannot really personally successfully master. And that is a matter of judgment.

Can you come up with ANY good reason why they all were banned?

Their posts had gotten so bizarre that Jim Robinson was embarrassed to have them in his house?

BTW, t-shirt was banned once, came back as infowars, and was banned again.

The boy can't learn, apparently.

If the Bushbots swing with him, there will be a whole new crop of leftists in Murrica.
The Bush-bots are leftists that's why they support him!

When are you people gonna stop being willingly manipulated by the left-wing media into distrust of our President?

Thank you. Even if this report is half true, I don't believe for a minute that Bush would agree to Kyoto like remedies that would destroy our economy.

But of course we have the usual knee-jerk reactions from the disatisfied nit-pickers who shriek "I'm NEVER gonna vote for Bush again!" everytime he says or does anything they don't agree with.
Cry-babies.

Acutally on the ozone thing, you left our dialogue rather open. I left being rather unsatisfied.

koyoto will not get us back the senate. Eco-terrorist want much, much more. The Democrats will always drop their pants for them, the Republicans won't. They know that.
Like I said before, if this is for votes and poll numbers, the right wing is totally screwed. If for war support ( Euro blackmail), it's another matter.
