I am so sorry to learn of the difficult situation your family is facing. It is so sad to think of an infant who is in distress, but God calls upon some to go through this very heavy burden for reasons that we do not readily understand. I just pray that these young parents will be able to maintain their faith and rise to the occassion of this calling.
As for the action of the hospital....of course it was wrong to go against the wishes of the parents, but the hospital is protecting itself against lawsuits, no doubt. Certainly not by the parents, but by the other busy-bodies who run around and pretend to have the same wisdom and love for the child that the parents have. I am sorry to say that these people are normally people of God who believe they are doing the right thing. Anyone can sue anyone now days. We have seen it happen before. We saw it happen with Karen Quinlan....we have seen it happen with other young parents who tried to make the best decision for their child. We have seen it happen with spouses who try to make the right decision for their loved one. I think we have to understand that in this very delicate situation the hospital and doctors have to also exercise a certain amount of wisdom and caution to protect not only their interests, but the interests of the parents. If there is a small chance the child could survive, perhaps they need to be very cautious and do what they are suppose to do...assist in the effort to support life. We are not talking, fortunately, about weeks or months of support, but a matter of days. Maybe we need to give them that? I will pray for all of you.

Thanks for your Prayers and kind words.
May the Lord be with you and yours.

My thoughts and prayers go with you and the family, and especially that the Eternal One would make His presence apparent, regardless of the outcome.
As the Hebrew children said in Daniel, whether our God delivers us or not, yet we still readily choose to serve Him...
May His peace ever be upon you,
Az (Keith)

Prayers going up from our family. If the Good Lord chooses to take this precious little one home so early, then we must believe that it's His will (even if we have no idea why). I also have seen many miraculous healings. God bless this little one and the young parents.

Thanks for your Prayers and your very insightful comments.
It is a very hard decision to say," Do not try to save my child."
If she was in a lesser hospital, I would be more inclined to question a "No chance" prognosis.

Thank you for your thoughtfully worded Prayer.

Prayers for Kaitland Marie. My Thoughts and Prayers are also with Kaitland's Mom and Dad, Darryl and Kim and all of the Family. This is so sad, heartbreaking. God Bless Kaitland.

"Many people believe that God personally comes for His Children. Yes, and I'm sure Kaitland's Great Grandmother and Aunt will come with Him.

Very sad. My prayers for God's embrace of Kaitland Marie's blessed soul. I hope the kids can find strength from, and not abandon, God after this tragedy. I can't imagine that pain.

When you have YOUR own news threads moved, without explanation, from "News/Activism" to "General Interest" ("chat"), and when you see how many of these prayer threads are left untouched ... you'll know why I'm annoyed.
Especially when I can't sleep.
Nothing personal against the man who started this thread. It just snapped my cap, that's all.
As for "the whiners" and "FR members" ... isn't that a redundancy? ~rueful smile~ ... including myself, o'course.

Thanks for your kind words and Prayers, Arnie.
The father, Darryl, has made me really proud in the way he has conducted himself. But, I am sure after this is over the grief will hit him hard.
Right now, he is trying to be strong for his two older sisters, his Mother, and his wife.
As his older cousin, I have and will be there for him. But his faith is what will heal him.

Although I do appreciate those who have posted in my defense, I also appreciate the point you very respectfully made, and I am not offended in the least bit.
I did ask the admin moderator if the thread should be reposted.
BTW, Do you have an opinion on the question I asked in the article?
To: Greybird
The prayer threads aren't specificly political or news in the FR sense, but they're an important part of the Freeper "community". I bookmark directly into the News/Activism category here, and I'm glad I have an opportunity to show support for good people here.
To: viligantcitizen
Do I have an opinion on the topic you raised that didn't involve prayers? Yes, but I'm not expressing it here, because it doesn't belong here. I'm sorry, but mixing the two works against the thrust of this forum.
And it's not just prayer threads. The excess of purely self-venting vanity posts has been cut back quite sizably in the two years I've been here. The two new main forums also help ... when threads are classified with better perception, that is, between the two.
Again, I'm not dumping on you for being a newcomer. Yet the moderators who are moving threads should be consistent.
I extend my personal regards. You are enduring having to deal with the apparently arbitrary, and that is never easy to do.

Kind sirs ;
I posted this in News/activism, but some feel that it should be posted in general.
It would not hurt my feelings if y'all feel it should be moved.
Thanks, Kermit

Prayer sent for Kaitland Marie and her parents. May God show them His love and wisdom in every aspect of this situation. This is a terrible burden for parents this young, and my heart goes out to them.
