the system will be able to forecast two weeks in advance.
Us taxpayers are paying $224M for a system to tell me the weather in 2 weeks (and then it will probably be wrong)? Is this a good use of our money? Seems like this is just to fund IBM's research into their new processors.

I don't think there is that much research with the computer technology in this computer. This is just more of what IBM has been building for a while and has already installed at Livermore.

Lot's of businesses & other interests depend on weather forecasting!
