Actually, I think she makes a sound argument for a change. I mean the liberal yuppies always yodel about how the rest of us should pay more in taxes. Well, the way I see it is if they are so in love with higher taxes, let them pay from their own pockets for a change. And starting with a dime extra for that overpriced cup of bilge they call latte at Starbucks is exactly what they ought to be doing. Since they claim its all for the children, its about time they put their money where their mouths are.
We ought to use their own tactics against their own industries. Hollywood glorifies violence so therefore we need to tax movies to fund emergency rooms. Television reruns encourage sloth so therefore any program with Meathead in it needs to have a tax to fund neighborhood playgrounds. Marxist professors encourage rebellion which results in death, so therefore we need to tax their salaries to fund the widows and orphans of communist aggression.

If you think rich people use Daycare/Preschools you are mistaken, they have nannies or send their children to exclusive Preschools that would not touch a dime of money from the goverment. These school's don't need the money and the strings attached to it. Most small private church daycares take care of hard working middle class children that need two paychecks or single mom's children that at least the mom has a job and is trying not to live off goverment money.
If you think the goverment is going to give any of this so called free tax money to small church preschools then you do not live in the real world.

It is stunning how absolutely distraught so many of you seem to be over what SOMEONE ELSE pays for their coffee. You don't suppose worth is relative maybe?

No we just want less goverment in our lives even if it comes from dumb poeple who pay $4.00 for coffee. Any new tax = more goverment.

I think taxes are way too high, and I think this tax is foolish. I also think the socialists in Seattle will probably vote for it, the same way they gave us those two pinheads Murray and Cantwell. But I wasn't referring to the tax. I was referring to the busy body, know it all comments about what people pay for coffee. For instance, I find it much more cost effective to make my own bullets and arrows instead of paying retail for them. I am also shocked at what some people pay for makeup, or cars or sports tickets, or clothing, or haircuts. But, the difference is, I'm not so snotty and presumptuous as to call them "dumb" for how they choose to spend their money.

What will happen when they fail in Washington is the same thing that happened in California during the Socialist Made Energy Crisis..."Oh, please Mr. Bush make the rest of the mean free states bale us out because they are a bunch of mean capitalist racist....by the way Mr. Bush we hate you,,but give us money anyway!!"

Undoubtedly. It is, increasingly, the way of things. I wish I could remember where I saw the statistics regarding the percentage of voters who pay taxes.
