Islam vindicates every secular humanist who happens to despise organized religion. It may seem a little odd to focus on this one point, but why did they mention Ali on the list of respectable blacks? What did he do but refuse to be drafted so that he could continue fighting and making money? That was his only "fight". And even if you think the draft = slavery, you have to admit that Ali was less principled than he was selfish. His argument basically boiled down to "I don't want to go...Oh yeah, and America is racist and the poor are beaten down" and so on. Ali is not to be respected for anything other than his skill as a boxer (and for me, his boxing skills don't carry my opinion of him as a person farther than I can thow him).

I've been seeing a quite a few of these rants from Egyptian papers lately, and they not only all seem to have the same predictable hatefilled tone....but they come off as juvenile, almost mentally stunted to the point one wonders how they actually made it into print.
If I were an Egyptian I'd truly be embarassed that the world sees this small minded garbage as a reflection of my country.
