O'Reilly Endorses "Swordfish" Approach to Terrorism
The O'Reilly Factor | 06/01/2002 | rebelsoldier

In his "Talking Points" segment Bill O'Reilly openly endorsed taking the war on terrorism directly to terrorist states, sponsors, and leaders and wiping them out in first strike tactics reminiscent of the movie "Swordfish" in which a shadow organization working within and without the US government continually singles out threats to the US and annihilates them. Furthermore, O'Reilly suggested Bush rescind the Executive Order 12333 that limits the assassination of political leaders by the US government.

As far as I know, O'Reilly is the first journalist of national stature to endorse waging unrestrained total war and targeted assassinations on terrorists who recognize no Geneva Convention, no international treaties, no rule or law whatsoever, and have no respect for human life. I think O'Reilly's method not only reinforces the seriousness of our struggle, but is a solid battle plan for the eradication of terrorist threats to the US and our allies.

After a period of "wishy-washy" touchy-feely topics, I was glad to see the return of the old O'Reilly that first debuted with guns balzing and asses kicked. I hope the trend continues.

As unpleasent as it might be, I think knocking off terrorists is probably the best solution to the problem. These mongols don't take prisoners of war, they murder their captives. We've seen it time and again. The Geneva Convention means nothing to people who send their own children to commit suicide bombings against other innocents.

He may be for assassination of terrorists (who isn't around here) but he backed off on the importance of going into Iraq. Oreilly is a suspect character. Ever since he stated that redistribution of wealth was a good idea in theory I've been skeptical (he said this at harvard).

"he backed off on the importance of going into Iraq"

O'Reilly is not as smart as he is convinced he is.

I heard O'Reilly say, a number of times, that he's not particularly smart. One time that comes to mind is when he was talking of Nightline. He kept saying that Koppel was a lot smarter than he (O'Reilly) was. I think that's true.

What O'Reilly brings to the table is love of America (something a lot a people on TV lack) and a passion for the subject at hand.

The only unpleasantness should be reserved for the terrorists and their supporters.
