Use any label you want to. You can wrongly call it socialism, but really it's just basic human decency in a modern society with a highly defined division of labor. With this statement, you have proven yourself to be an outright liberal. The "basic human decency" argument has been used by liberals to justify socialism since its inception.
So liberals use children the way libertarians use the Constitution the way al Qaeda uses Islam the way militia nutcases use Christianity. The problem is not children or the Constitution or Islam or Christianity.
