Many people are upset with Doles wishy-washy-ness, and she has been in the past.
However, Compared to who she is going to run against, She is lightyears ahead.
BTW: Click here for a statement from Dole to the NC Rifle and Pistol Association
Some of us don't prostitute our votes for something so petty as a political party.
What bothers me is, like in this case, when the Beltway types come in and say "Vote for Dole in the primary, she is the only one who can win the general election".
The primaries should be free and open. If a RINO wins, fine. Despite the fact that the RINO's always bolt when the conservative wins.
By the way, what does Dole stand for?
Your Attitude is exactly why the liberal courts will continue to run over the rights that our founders fought and died for.
Do you think for a SECOND that a Daschle controlled senate will allow Anyone who they even THINK would vote to overturn Roe V Wade onto the Supreme Court?
There may be as many as 3 Supreme Court Retirements in the next few years.
If the Democrats are in charge of the judicary committee then no Conservative has a prayer. Look what they did to Pickering who was only up for an Appeals Court Nomination.
Having Dole as the Senator instead of Bowles is Good for North Carolina and the Entire nation, as it will get the senate out of Daschles hands and allow Bush to Push the Courts away from the left.
If we lose this chance to reshape the Judicary we may never get another.
Let me ask you, How is Bowles better than Dole? What can he do for North Carolina? What advantage is there to getting him elected over her?
There are people talking about throwing away their vote to a third party if it is Dole Vs Bowles. That kind of thinking is why Dascle is in the Senate Today.
The Witch Cantwell would not be the senator from Washington if idiots hadn't voted Libertarian.
Chafee is a liberal no doubt, but he represents a state that repudiated Bush-Cheney royally-- worse than New York, worse than Massachusetts! He votes far more conservative than his state, but he could have left when Jeffords left. He didn't though. I don't buy that he will if the GOP picks up seats this fall.
Yeah well, its a party (the Republicans) that will see that conservative judges get confirmed (if they win).
But I sure hope you are not suggesting that conservative registered Republicans not vote their principles in the REPUBLICAN PRIMARY.
I am not from NC but five minutes with Google brought me to the websites of Jim Snyder and Jim Snyder, both of whom seem to be very sound on the issues. And there is also Ada Fisher who is a little softer on social spending but at least supports a flat tax.
Compare that to Liddy Dole's web site, where the "issues" page is as devoid of specifics as is that lady's cerebrum.
Agreed, the greatest change to shift the judicary to the right is only a few months aways (and all some Freepers can do is whine about it).
No. I merely do not wish to exchange one group of thieves for another. Nor will I defend such stupidity.
People keep parroting this line, but I simply don't buy it. Smith can be as competitive as Sununu if those Pubbies who are offended want him to be. Smith is trailing Sununu in the polls, but he's embarassing Sununu when it comes to fundraising.
I truly don't have a horse in this race, but I find it interesting to follow. Regardless, Shaheen's gotta be loving just sitting back and watching/listening.
Chafee staying a Republican doesn't influence the outcome of confirmation votes at all-- though Daschle could delay for a bit longer than Republicans would the roll call.
I will never understand the brainpower (or lack of from such people).
Yeah, I tend to agree after reading an article this week where Chaffee said he's basically disgusted with how Leahy and friends have been playing dirty politics with the judicial nominees. I have no doubt in my mind he was considering jumping (he threatened to on occasion), but I think he's changed his mind after watching the Hypocrats in action. I hope.
How badly does Smith have to be losing by, against Sununu or Shaheen (sp), before you buy it?
