Has Kasich given any reasons for his abrupt departure from DC and his quick return to Ohio?

He did not depart abruptly, he announced during his run for president that he would be retiring his seat. He had been an MOC since 1983, he was no longer eligible, by Conference rules, to be chairman of the Budget Committee. To be fair, not every member spends 30 or 40 years in the House.

Does anyone know the current whereabouts of Gary Condit? The last I heard, he had "disappeared" on the morning that Chandra's remains were found. Have there been any "sightings" of him yet?

Could this be what he meant when he told AMS that he "might be in some trouble and have to disappear for awhile", way back last summer?
