It's real, but I doubt it. Cause if he didn't do it, or knows who did it, or why it was done, why isn't Condidit co-operating? He's got nothing to lose now. If he's innocent.

Is there some report today that Condit will not speak to Police again? I think he does have criminal exposure, but not necessarily because he killed his girlfriend (or had her killed, or knows she was killed on account of him, etc). He met her that day, or had plans to, IMO. But he followed his own advice to another "girlfriend" - if something happens to me, get away fast! Not that I think she died during sex games with Condit. I'm talking in a more figurative sense. I think he was so used to covering up, all his Condit-defense-plans kicked in. He didn't come forward even when he knew something was wrong (she didn't show up, or she didn't call - certainly by the time her parents called). Avoiding suspicion and scandal and other scandals from emerging, was his intent. The craven bastard kept trying to hide even when her life was at stake. His secrecy was more important than any investigation.

For the perfect ironic kick in the pants , his selfish lies brought about everything he hoped to prevent by lying - scandal, suspicion, a ruined career. And since he lied to police, maybe even some jail time.

Grab the tin foil and let me take you back to the very beginning last May.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office sent a detective to Washington DC to assist DC cops. The DC cops brushed him aside, told him to go home, there's nothing here for you to do. He returned to Modesto.

Tin Foil in place? - Good. During his trip to DC, did he have contact with Condit? If so, would not that be something that should be included in his police report? This is the same dept that brother Burl worked for before unceremonially retiring. Was this detective tight with brother Burl? What exactly is in his police report? Surely he would have to account for his time spent in DC beyond filing re-imbursment requests forms for expenses. Was a cover-up in the works at that early date? No facts, just speculation like most everyone else.

I think Condit has delusions that he can win back his seat next term.

I think he will never admit he knew where Chandra was that day. Even he knows he could never overcome the shame of having witheld that information.

He might, if he knows he is innocent, wait for forensics to clear him. Then, he can play the unfair victim of a witch hunt and try to ride that coattail back into public service.

That said, I haven't heard any public reports of him refusing to meet with DC police now, or even to take a (useless, IMO) polygraph. Do you know something new about that?
