There's an arrticle on the Voice there about *gasp*... Coca Cola selling 'old' soda in minority neighborhods.
The horror!
Never mind that until a few years ago there was no such thing as an 'expiration date' on pop. And no one cared. The idea to add dates was a marketing ploy to begin with, and maybe, just maybe, intended to reduce litigation from people finding caramel lumps in the bottles.
And never mind the fact that sell-thru is slower in mom & pop stores and minority neighborhoods, so that the average age of just about every product will be higher.
Check out the strawberry preserves in stores like these -- the contents have turned black.
In fact, you would probably find a lot of outdated copies of the Voice in such stores -- if they were stupid enough to carry it...
