President Musharraf has been a good ally in the war on terrorism, at substantial risk to himself, both personally and politically. India has done nothing to help us, except pay lip service to the cause.

If war breaks out, it will be India's fault. Pakistan has said it will not start a war with India. I have yet to hear a similar pledge from the Indians -- not that I'd believe it if I did.

It is India that started the nuclear arms race in South Asia with its provocative tests, to which the Pakistanis responded. It is India that moved troops to the border, forcing Musharraf to redeploy some of the troops that had been working to help track down Al Qaeda and Taliban forces to the Indian border. This created a hole through which these terrorists could escape, which was what India wanted, IMO. That way, it could weaken American ties to Pakistan.

Last year, a member of the Indian cabinet said that Pakistan should be made part of "Akand Bharat" -- a Greater India. (Lebensraum, you know.)

Indian troops have a long record of dressing like Pakistanis, or Kashmiris, or Sikhs, or some other group and committing acts of violence to have the people they're pretending to be blamed for it, and it's shameful how often it works.

Last year, Indian troops were caught red-handed in a village in Kashmir trying to set fire to the Gurdwara (the Sikh temple) and some Sikh homes. Both Sikh and Muslim villagers descended upon them and prevented this atrocity.

Two independent studies have shown that the March 2000 massacre of 35 Sikhs in Chithisinghpora, which coincided with a visit by former President Clinton, was carried out by Indian forces. One study was done by the International Human Rights Organization, based in Ludhiana, Punjab, and the other was a joint effort of the Punjab Human Rights Organization and the Movement Against State Repression.

Further, the book Soft Target by Canadian journalists Brian McAndrew of the Toronto Star and Zuhair Kashmeri of the Toronto Globe and Mail shows that India blew up its own airliner in 1985 just to blame Sikh activists and create a backlash against them.

The Hindu, a pro-government newspaper, reported that in the recent violence in Gujarat in which over 5,000 people appear to have died, the government ordered the police to stand aside and do nothing, just as they did in November 1984 in the Delhi massascres. Published reports in India have shown that the government planned the Gujarat massacre.

The Kashmiri freedom movement is sui generis. It is indigenous. It is one of 17 movements within India's artificial borders fighting for its independence. Why do you suppose there are so many?

India promised in 1948 to hold a free and fair plebiscite in Kashmir on its political status. It has never been held. India refuses to hold a free and fair vote on independence in predominantly Christian Nagaland, in Punjab, Khalistan, or anywehere else where independence is an issue. India claims that the freedom movements there have no support. Then why doesn't "the world's largest democracy" simply hold a monitored, free and fair, democratic vote and prove it?

BTW, Tony Blankley reported in the Washington Times on January 2 that India is sponsoring cross-border terrorsim in Sindh.

Journalist Tavleen Singh, writing in India's leading newsmagazine, India Today, reported that the Indian government itself created the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), which the U.S. State Department has identified as a "terrorist organization," and put up the leaders of the LTTE in the fanciest hotel in Delhi. Journalist and FReeper Justin Raimondo has reported that India's Defense Minister, George Fernandes, raised money and arms for the LTTE.

India, OTOH, is automatically the good guy because of its long record of anti-Americanism. It votes against the US at the UN more often than any country except Cuba. It voted to throw us off the Human Rights Commission, then voted with the other tyrannies to deny a motion to investigate China's human-rights record. (Interestingly, India has not let Amnesty International into the country since 1978. Even Castro has let Amnesty into Cuba more recently!)

India has made military deals to sell heavy water to Iran, according to the Washington Times. It had a 100-year friendship treaty with the Soviets. It supported the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan but has done nothing but pay lip service to our activities there. And according to the May 18, 1999 issue of the Indian Express, Mr. Fernandes organized and led a meeting with the Ambassadors from Red China, Cuba, Russia, Libya, Iraq, and Serbia ("Yugoslavia") to discuss setting up a security alliance "to stop the U.S."

India has sponsored and promoted terrorism against Paksitan, in Pakistan, in Kashmir, and against the minorities within its own borders.

The Indian newspaper Hitavada reported in November 1994 that the Indian government paid the late governor of Punjab, Surendra Nath, the equivalent of $1.5 billuion to foment and support terrorist activity in Kashmir and in Punjab, Khalistan. The U.S. State Department reported in 1994 that the Indian government paid out over 41,000 cash bounties to police officers for killing Sikhs. One such bounty was paid to a police officer who murdered a three-year-old boy! Vajpayee, Advani, and the rest of the militant Hindu nationalist thugs who are running the Indian government can't be trusted. I don't think we should be doing business with them.

Apparently, you cannot tell the difference between Muslims and Sikhs. And BTW, I am not a member of either group.

The Council of Khalistan is financed only by voluntary contributions from Sikhs and occasional Americans who choose to contribute. It receives no funding from Pakistan or any Muslim group, as you know well. Its financial records are made publicaly available.

And it is completely unfair of you to call CIK "a blood thirsty propagandistic terrorist scum sucking organization." You know better. The Council of Khalistan has repeatedly said that it opposes terrorism wherever it occurs, that it opposes militancy, and that it supports freeing the Sikh homeland, Khalistan, from India by peaceful, democratic, nonviolent means. How can you even thionk of labelling that a "terrorist scum sucking organization"?

Where were there any such pictures? You won't answer because there wern't any. There were Muslims who did that, and they are a minority of Muslims, but a very active minority. If you can't tell Muslims from Sikhs, then why should we consider anything you say valid?

It's a common problem. We have one Sikh who works at our office, and he wears the traditional turban. Since 9/11 we've beat him up several times, just be safe.

Dog Gone, I know you're joking, but there have been over 300 incidents of attacks against Sikhs since 9/11, according to A HREF="http://ww.sikh.org/hatecrime">this website.

After the rest of the Indina subcontinent. Punjab was the last place to be conquered by the British. And prior to the British colonial occupation, there was no such political entity as India, while there was an independent Punjab.
