WEll, sometimes squirrel and small rodents hoard materials, such as silk neckties left lying about in open spaces. They will take that material to their nests unless distracted by tasty corpses; if that happens typically they will drop the item. This is probably what the police found.

Um I'm sorry. I did not mean to give the impression that C. wasn't murdered. The skeleton may or may not reveal how, is all. Cracks can be caused by winter freezes. Animals do leave cut marks. So it is up to the forensic antrhopologists to choose among the alternative causes by looking at the actual bones.

I wonder how often silk neckties are left laying around in the open in that park. If some squirrel dropped a silk necktie by the body, then Condit would indeed be the most unlucky man in the world!! lol
