Totally agree. I believe she met, or at least talked to, Condit that day. I think he probably met up wtih her. He knew roughly where she was and what her plans were, minimum.
HOwever, I also think she was murdered by mr. G, who assaulted the other women near the same place, and shortly after Chandra was murdered there.
He chose the wrong path, to put it in the most gentle way, about what to do when it was clear she was gone. He hid and obfuscated and denied. And lost everything because of his choice.
I actually think he would have survived politically if he had chosen the honorable path, stuck his neck out and taken his lumps.
You may be right. I'm 100% certain that Condit's actions were wrong, and I'm 100% certain that his actions *point* to guilt. But yes, there's still part of me that realizes he may not have known what happened to Chandra but went into a tailspin of deceit to cover up his sex life. He wasn't just a congressman. He was a Democratic congressman in a conservative district who had to play the part of family man to stay electable. Perhaps he just couldn't see further than the sordid headlines in Modesto that could have appeared if he had told the truth.

I don't know. All I KNOW is that he hindered a police investigation with his tactics.
