He is not related to the Frank-Barbara-Mary Roberts family. In fact, he beat Mary Roberts for labor commissioner

Lets hope that Kevin can run a better campaign than last time. He got hammered by Hardy Myers in 2000. Kulongowski is a junkyard dog, he will be tough to beat.

Yes, I hope Mannix can run a decent campaign and actually win!

Keep in mind that Kulongoski also has had his share of electoral failures (lost a Senate race in 1980 and a Governor race in 1982).

Saxton and Roberts spilt the moderate R vote, leaving an unelectable Mannix as fodder for the media this fall.

Just watch that sawed-off little police-state thug (my opinion) be assailed for his past anti-abortion schemes.

The consolation is that Governor Kulongoski campaigned on these views:

One, there's not a public budget in Oregon that couldn't take a 5 percent cut. Two, he'd consult with the free-market Cascade Policy Institute in coming up with the cuts. Three, our schools are not underfunded. Four, Oregon's public agencies need to prove they're spending wisely before anyone seeks higher taxes.

I would be nice if the Nat'l Republican Party would take notice and assist in the fall campaign instead of sitting on their thumbs. A Bush visit would be a nice boost too.

We get stuck with another Dumbocrat Gov. we will never pull back from the Euro-socilist state we are headed for.

You should call them Demoncrats, not Dumbocrats. At least as far as the party leaders are concerned, evil is a more compelling hypothesis than stupidity.

Anybody have the Grant Co. anti UN vote results. A fruitless 20 minutes on Google failed to turn up a useful link.

That obviously did not help the cause, but typically a third party has no chance of winning. I did not always agree with Sen. Gorton, but there is a vast difference between him and Ms. Cantwell.
