A recently revealed government proposal known as the Nuclear Posture Review was authored jointly by our Departments of Defense and Energy, the agencies charged with providing the U.S. with its nuclear arsenal.

At present, the administration favors developing and deploying a new generation of more versatile, tactical nuclear weapons, thus in effect breaking down the now existing firewall between battlefield weapons and the ultimate doomsday weapon of last resort.

I served in combat under General Patton during World War II and, yes, there were times I was scared.

Assuming the movie was accurate, he's probably the guy who Patton "bitc# slapped" for being a coward. ;-)

As to Russia, when it comes to matters nuclear, we need an ironclad agreement to reduce our respective nuclear arsenals, beef up arms control and commit to a nonproliferation policy.

Yeah, Russia was always, so trustworthy in their dealings on those in the future. /sarcasm.

Gee, you know, I read this letter and I felt like I was back in the cold war, when leftists and pacifists like Mr. Elmer here were constantly screaming for more arms control as a way of insuring peace. Unfortunately, there are many more "sixties throwbacks" like Mr. Elmer here in "Ithaca, the City of Evil."

Once readied for action, these slimmed-down nukes, it is claimed, will allow the U.S. to threaten other countries with nuclear annihilation...

He says it like it's a bad thing...

Who wants to bet me that Mr. Elmer has one of those a**hole bumper stickers on his car? You know - "You can't hug a child with nuclear arms". Remember that one?

Well, whatever. While Mr. Elmer is busy urinating himself at the thought that the world is dangerous, the rest of us can do what has to be done to take care of bidness....
