(IsraelNN.com) The family of Techiya Bloomberg, 35, who was murdered in a terror attack on 5 August 2001, is filing a lawsuit against the European Union this morning in the Tel Aviv District Court for funding the PA. Techiya, the mother of five, was five months pregnant at the time of the attack. Her husband Steven and daughter Tzippi, 14, were seriously wounded in the attack.

Security forces in October arrested Farid Azouni, a PA policeman, who was charged with taking part in the shooting attack. Two months later, Samar Abu Hania was apprehended for planning the fatal attack. He too was employed as a PA security official.

According to the suit being filed by attorney Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, the EU has recklessly provided the PA with massive amounts of financial aid, while knowing that the money was being diverted from its intended civilian purposes to terrorist groups.

Following the signing of the Oslo Accords, the EU pledged to provide funding to the PA for civilian projects, primarily to pay the salaries of the PA's municipal workers. The EU donates approximately $10 million a month and more than $1.5 billion to the PA since 1994. The plaintiffs contend that Yasser Arafat has channeled large sums of these EU funds to terrorist organizations such as Fatah Tanzim and Force 17. Moreover, the complaint alleges that the EU failed to undertake any steps to monitor or scrutinize how the PA was utilizing the money.

Whooo-hooo!

I have no idea of the likelihood of success, but anything anyone can do to hoist the Euroweenies on their own petard has my support.
