I enjoyed reading many of the articles in both magazines for a long time. Now Bill and Rich, etc. sound like johnny one notes.

Well, blow me away. I still read online articles from NR now and then, and on rare occasion, from the Standard. But I can't for the life of me see how anyone could ever have admired Bill Kristol (as a writer or editor) or Rich Lowry.

Well, 'admired' is probably too strong a word. Let's put it this way: I found what they wrote interesting enough to read. I was a founding subscriber to the Standard. Still read some online of both mags. NR and WS
Cancelled Time, Newsweek and US News& World Report many years ago.
