A Dulce woman told relatives the devil was after her just hours before she abandoned her five-year-old son along Interstate 25 near Bernalillo on April 29th. That according to court documents.
Authorities say 25-year-old Cheryl Redwine was arrested in Dulce later that day on an unrelated charge.
An affidavit says she told police that she thought her boy was the son of the devil and that she had killed him in her apartment.
Her son was found wandering along the highway, wearing only shorts.
Redwine has been charged with two counts of child abuse.
District Attorney Lemuel Martinez said yesterday that Redwine has been placed in a mental-health clinic for an evaluation.
My youngest son has 665 in his scalp.
No, Groucho Marx reruns.
Heavily armed and brandishing warrants, State police and CPS agents swarmed onto the Cleaver property today, leading a handcuffed Ward Cleaver away as his sons were taken into protective custody. He is accused of having ordered his boys to go to their rooms, threatening them with a discussion in the den after supper. Said his youngest, Beaver, "Dad sure was sore." Mr. Cleaver was charged with multiple counts of false imprisonment, child endangerment and child labor law violations. It is alleged that he smoked his pipe in an enclosed space in his children's presence, exposing them to risks associated with secondary smoke. Neighbors are expected to testify at trial that he put them to work mowing the lawn, raking leaves and washing the family car, compensating them only with a small amount of money he called an "allowance." Mr. Cleaver, who will be undergoing court-ordered anger management therapy and parenting classes from the county jail, has also been named in a civil suit filed this morning by the attorney for the illegal immigrants union, claiming deprivation of income and discriminatory hiring. If convicted on all counts, Mr. Cleaver could be facing several consecutive life sentences.
"Cheryl Redwine"...I'm betting she's an afficianado of the vinous sauce...;^)
