This is the most assinine 'policy' I have heard of. A US citizen from another state has to pay out of state tuition but an illegal gets to pay in state. Say WHAT?
I am getting really tired of the anti-immigrant rant. Should we prosecute illegals? Yes. But this constant Mexican bashingn is driving me crazy.
The Republican Party should make an effort at an Hispanic outreach, and I am glad they are doing so. I want those who are able to vote to understand the benefits of capitalism, self-reliance, and equal opportunity. I do not want to write off the new Americans as democrats because of the misguided intentions of those who think it is pandering to ask for their votes.
When people campaign in Polish neighborhoods they eat the food and say a few words in Polish. The same thing happens in Italian neighborhoods. When those people were new citizens, one or two generations ago, the democrats had the brains to go into the neighborhoods and speak the language. Those ethnic neighborhoods voted democrat for many years.
There is NOTHING wrong with what Racicot is doing. Carl Rove has a pretty good track record, despite what those who criticize him say (and at least one is not a Bush supporter, and that is a fact) and he is who the President has chosen to help with the political strategy.
Regarding Pataki, I want to see what that bill actually is. I heard Michelle as a commentator on a show recently and she did not have some of her facts correct. I was not particularly impressed.
