Russell Baker, former New York Times writer and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner, hosting Exxon-Mobil Masterpiece Theatre's dramatic narrative of the Anthony Trollope novel, is either the stupidest man available to public television, or as masterful a fraud as the central character in the story. Baker, at the end of the third episode, found the ignorance or brass to face the camera and speak of the intolerance of the English peerage -- in particular, their insensitivity to Jews....(snip)
I have no idea what religion, if any , Russell Baker follows. I do know that he is highly regarded by the liberal American media/entertainment machine. And he sat there at the end of the third installment of Trollope's anti-capitalist, class war propaganda novel, and criticized the upper classes of the day for their anti-Jewish attitudes.
There is no more anti-Jewish class in America today than the one to which Mr. Baker belongs, and PBS is at the center of it. Watch the coverage on the Lehrer News Hour and Washington Week in Review, if you don't believe me.
