Castaneda is doing his job: representing the best interests of the Mexican people, even if it comes at the expense of Americans. Unfortunately, our leaders aren't performing the same service on our behalf. Instead, they seem to be trying to find a way to do everything Castaneda wants, and more, without us being aware of it. Maybe people are starting to get it: Americans who can't afford to employ maids, who don't run farms or businesses that use low-skilled labor, are now expected to subsidize those workers, thereby subsidizing the businesses and lifestyles of those who can afford to hire them. American taxpayers are expected to pay for their medical care, underwrite their kids' education from Head Start through graduate school, pay benefits to their elderly (SSI) that they never earned, share all our land, water and other resources with them; we even pay the price of keeping them in prison. More than 60 percent of people in California prisons are immigrants. No need to negotiate away our sovereignty. The Mexican elites already have taken it, exporting their poverty here and then expecting us do something about it. And our government is only too happy to oblige.

The elites are his people obviously. They've got all that oil and they want to make sure their brown people don't get any big ideas about all that improving their lives. They cut off irrigation water to the campesinos, their little farms are parched and scorched lands now --forcing them out of Mexico.
