I was about to post this from Yahoo/Reuters. Bigger margin than I expected but I never thought he'd win.

Awe Man...here it comes...
Weeks of Liberal sissies worldwide patting the french on the back for saving enlightened humanity from the scourge of reality.
Then back to French whining about America in general.
The more things change...

This may make US withdrawal from the ICC pass almost unnoticed.

This picture seemed appropriate to post since this election
also was a landslide. I'm sure Le Pen felt like this too?.........

RICHARD MICHAEL PRUITT / DMN
Dallas Police Sr. Corporal Kimberly Mayfield, a board
member of the Dallas Police Association, covers her face as
she watches the police/fire pay referendum results over the
Internet.
Police, fire raises soundly rejected

Pretty big margin alright. Ya reckon Le Pen feels like that lady in #5?.......

That'll work for me...........
To: MeeknMing
Le Pen is a reactionary, not a fascist. Small point to quibble about, but it's worth pointing out since Europe has lost the lessons of only a generation ago, it seems.

set off a popular movement to preserve France's democracy and dignityGood, so now with it's dignity confirmed, France can continue to become Islamic, as violent as the English and so socialized that any and all of its brain trust will continue to migrate out as its very language becomes exterminated and turns into Arabic. Well, Frogs, enjoy your extinction the same way you Limes will soon die out. W. Europeans are dinasaurs who deserve extinction of their liberalized and pointlessly deluded cultures. Lucky for the few smart ones, the E. European Orthodox will stay fighting to the last.

Street protests against Mr. Le Pen, a fixture on the fringes of French politics
who was widely viewed as racist and anti-Semitic........ Hey, guys. I'm not up to speed in French politics, so......
is that a true statement or just liberal media bias working here?
Is he truly racist and anti-semitic?......anyone?
Thanks!

Be a little bit humble here. In a generation or so, we could be next.

I would have been willing to shell out some cash to raise their pay.....for heaven's sakes....
To: MeeknMing
According to the lefties in the media and here on FR, yes, To anyone with half a brain and able to think for themselves, no.
To: MeeknMing
All three of France's major polling firms gave Mr. Chirac between 81 and 83 percent of the vote, with Mr. Le Pen getting 17 to just over 18 percent..... Mr. Chirac, whose murkily defined campaign was transformed into a crusade against the far right, now faces the challenges of a weak mandate, Only in France would an 80% elctoral victory be refered to a "weak mandate"!!!
To: joeyman
Well, a history teacher at school thinks his 80's generation will lead the country in a more conservative direction once they get in power. He thinks they are more conservative now that they are grown up than grown up 60's kids etc overall. I do not know if his prediction will come true or not.

Hey, guys. I'm not up to speed in French politics, so...... is that a true statement or just liberal media bias working here? No, he's a French nationalist, and to the liberal/neocon media, nationalism is the same thing as racism, sexism, antisemitism and whatever other ism you can think of.

Be a little bit humble here. In a generation or so, we could be next. Not if FReepers have any say about it, I think! :O)

I would have been willing to shell out some cash to raise their pay.....for heaven's sakes.... If I recall, the issue that was voted on was whether the Dallas Police and Firefighters get a
17% raise all at once instead of giving 5-6% per year over the next 3 years....
They'll still get increases, as they should, of course.....
To: MeeknMing
I've been out all day....have the French surrendered (to whoever) yet????
