There was zero chemistry between Maguire and Dunst Then NPR Radio lied (imagine that). The reviewer there says they are marvelous together.

According to my local newspaper, DC (read Warner Brothers) is very secretive in announcing future plans for movies. Nevertheless they said that in the works are Superman vs. Batman, Batman Year One, Wonder Woman (with Sandra Bullock (yuck) in the lead).

Wonder Woman (with Sandra Bullock (yuck) in the lead). I like Sandra Bullock but she's going to have to have major breast enlargment surgery to get to Wonder Woman status. As a 12 year old, Wonder Woman was hot!
Who should it be? Lynda Carter is too old. :-)
Jennifer Connelly, yeah, that's the ticket.

I'm one of those who owns a copy of the Corman "Fantastic Four" on video...easily the "Plan 9" of super hero movies. Nothing, but nothing, stinks as bad as the FF flick. With licensing agreements about to lapse, Roger Corman reported stated: "I don't want the movie good, I want it by next Tuesday." Trust me; he got his wish.

Captain America was eventually released on video It should have been released to Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Just got in back from taking the kiddos to see Spiderman and it was excellent! The kids loved it and there was no profanity or sexual innuendo in it.

Being a Marvel fan, this is ok by me, I always found their heroes more believable. Spider-Man really shines in this aspect.
I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiment. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that Marvel set their superheroes in the 'real world'. Try and find Gotham City or Metropolis on the map, but you sure as heck knew where Forest Hills was (though for the life of me I never understood why there was a Midtown High in Forest Hills :-))
As also you mentioned, it was easy to relate to the problems faced by Peter Parker (got to pay the rent!)
As for the movie, excellent performance by the actor who played JJJ in a small role, and I was pleasently surprised with Tobey Maguire. Looks like they have an opportunity to create a heck of a franchise here, let's hope they don't blow it (Superman 3, Batman Forever)

Can't wait to see this movie! Spidey is my favorite super hero.
BTW, anyone want to take a guess at who this actress is? She makes a cameo in the film. Here's a few hints: she's heavily disguised in this pic, and she was the star of a tv series that Sam Rahmi co-executive produced (along with her husband).

Oops! Spelled Sam's last name wrong. That should be Raimi.

Whoa! Okay, I cheated to find out who that was, so I won't give it away to anyone else, but "heavily disguised" is an understatement. Even knowing who it is, I still don't see it...

As a 12 year old, Wonder Woman was hot! Your posting illustrates the importance of proper sentence structure. I'm guessing you meant "As a 12 year old, I thought Wonder Woman was hot!". I hope you didn't mean what you actually wrote.

I'm guessing you meant "As a 12 year old, I thought Wonder Woman was hot!" Hmmm. I'm guessing that you meant "When I was a 12 year old, I thought Wonder Woman was hot!" ;)

Beverly Hillbillies fans forfeit their right to complain about anyone's acting ability.;o>
"Weeeeeeeeeelll doggies!"
Now Barney Rubble. There was an actor!

Sorry, but the actress that has the inside edge to be Wonder Woman is Lucy Lawless. Compare the pics.

Yet Another...
To: Sparkvark
Whew! I'm going to see it tomorrow with my 2 nieces and after reading the review I was worried that maybe it'd have stuff that wouldn't be good for the little kids to see. Nice to have that load off my head.
And Marvel has always been my favorite, as well. Batman and Superman were good, but DC didn't have much more than that, and had an immense amount of uninteresting characters in their universe. Stan Lee's creations, however, were great in their day and are still great. Spider-Man, the Hulk, the X-Men, etc. All great stuff. I'm ecstatic at all the great Marvel movies that have already come out and am looking forward to the ones yet to come. Spider-Man, X-Men 2, The Hulk, and Daredevil (with Jennifer Garner as Elektra. *drool*).
BTW: I've also heard that they may be making Ghost Rider, The Punisher, and several others which I can't recall at this moment. Thank God for The Punisher, at least. That Dolph Lundgren Punisher movie was godawfully bad. Which is stupid, as the Punisher is the EASIEST comic character to make. Just your standard action movie, except the character wears a skull symbol on his shirt and calls himself "The Punisher". And I used to collect Ghost Rider regularly, so I'm looking forward to that. I heard that Nicholas Cage is interested in the role, which is good news as he's a fan (He even owns some actual Ghost Rider bikes). I just about gagged when I heard he might play Superman, but Ghost Rider is an entirely different story, and I think he'd make a great Ghost Rider.

I'm still wondering when the Duke Nukem movie is gonna get started. I heard The Rock is gonna play the lead.
