PERTH prostitutes were reeling from exhaustion following an influx of United States sailors stressed from a stint in a war zone, a well-known madam said today.
Mary-Anne Kenworthy said she was forced to close the doors of her famous Langtrees brothel for only the third time ever yesterday because her prostitutes were so worn out they could no longer provide a quality service.
When she realised the sex workers just couldn't cope any more she closed Langtrees doors for a day rather than risk the brothel's reputation.
"We're the biggest and the best, I'd rather take nothing than offer a poor service," Ms Kenworthy said.
Langtrees did a week's business in just three days after 5500 American sailors disembarked in Fremantle on Sunday, many of them stressed from their encounter with war, she said.
Three US warships – the aircraft carrier USS John C Stennis, the guided missile cruiser USS Port Royal and the fast combat support ship USS Bridge – were returning from taking part in the war against terror.
"A lot of it was stres. They'd been in the war zone," Ms Kenworthy said.
"And they were a lot more agitated sexually because they'd been at sea too long.
"All the sex workers in Perth would have been exhausted."
Ms Kenworthy said she had to close the doors when she realised some sex workers were taking money when they were not up to the job.
"The girls were starting to refuse to have sex but still wanted money just for taking their clothes off."
Ms Kenworthy said she wished the US sailors would arrive in smaller numbers.
"I just wish they could dribble-feed the Yanks in, fly a thousand off at a time," she said.
"We usually find the Yanks are hard work but lots of fun, this time they needed the company too."
Ms Kenworthy said the last time she closed the brothel's doors was on December 31, 1999 so the girls could party.

My attitude isn't sanctimonious. I'm just more "gentlemanly" and courteous to the ladies and children of military who might be reading than your average FReeper male.
Given that this is the "premiere conservative site on the web" and a regular draw for armed forces types ... particularly the wives who want the skinny from all the military sorts who hang out here -- I'm possibly a little ashamed and embarrassed and angry on behalf of the women who share their men with ten-dollar whores. I'm not sure this is the skinny for which they were looking where accepted behavior and attitudes of the rank and file toward same are concerned.

There was some thread title scrolling by the other night asking just how much substance there is to these patriotic slogans so many are spouting like automotons these days.
You have to wonder. I certainly will take the "substance" of the lip service paid to wives and marriage and family with a grain of salt given that EVERYONE appears to understand those obligations don't really mean anything. And everyone understands that -- despite a man's alledgedly understanding his commitments both to home and to service -- living on board ship or being called up for is instant grounds for enjoying rank promiscuity with prostitutes and may even rate cheers from the boys back home for the team effort that is chapping seasoned professionals raw.
No one's judging these men except by their actions and the reactions of some which actually cheer the vice with pride. Where others find them the zenith of red-blooded American "Real Men", I find the whole thing disappointing.
It's exactly out of some understanding of this as the sad truth of men, actually, that I ask that this sort of thing be left to the Men's or Boy's clubs to which women gain admission at a price ... generally, the cost's being the respect they once had as they learn men really aren't all they're cracked up to be and to think thus is to live in some stinkin' dream world.
Probably better sex to be had as a prostitute than some stupid faithful wife keeping the homefires burning like an idiot.
Which is the more manly thing? Giving in to one's passions or governing them judiciously? These are men or we're just monkeys in uniform? If we're going to have a doublestandard for legitimate male vs. female relieving of the stress of fidelity or chastity or the job for which one freely volunteered, I'd just as soon you guys left it at pretending to respect women even if you really don't.
I'm sure all the bravado on these threads is just that ... and likely from single men or those who remember how Great were the days before they were so stupid as to ruin all the fun.
I'm not an idiot or that naive ... it's just that I have a bad habit of making men (particularly those I admire) out to be better than they really are as a rule. Just like I think women and their feminine products and their stupid gossip and their cheesy "Day in the Life" Tiger Beat threads do women a disservice, I think this does men a disservice.
And I really do find this whole thread belies the rah-rah attitude and can't help but be a painful read for those stuck here at home.
It's not women don't have enough to deal with already thanks to the left. I'm kind of tired of realizing that the right is just as debauched and desensitized.

If anyone ever used such mealy-mouthed euphemisms for what predator priests do, you would be outraged. "Companionship" is going to dinner and a movie. With "companionship" you don't get syphilis, gonorrhea, herpes, parasites of every description. With "companionship" you don't get orphaned (or aborted) bastard children. Fornication-for-hire is neither "adult" or admirable; neither is it a "right" bought with military service.

Just as I think certain singularly feminine qualities -- like modesty -- distinguish true ladies, I think that certain singularly male attributes -- like restraint (a withholding of one's real power) or discretion (as regards talking about one's intercourse with prostitutes or masturbation in public in the company of women, children and perfect strangers) -- distinguishes men.

Let's just hope our wimmen military don't enjoy the same success at blazing trails for Western immodesty and "Reproductive Rights" everywhere they go. If Hackworth's right and Afghanistan's but Round One of 30 or more in this "War on Terror" we'll want need all nubile prostitutes worldwide we can get to keep the single young men so essential to our military in fighting trim. No sense aborting all the extra women or they'll probably cost a hell of a lot more than ten bucks a pop.
