My pastor took this from a newspaper and put it on the back of our church bulletin a few weeks ago. Just click on the link below and it should show it.

Crap! my link below doesn't work, but the link above does. Click Church Bulletin instead.

This is my first time posting an image on here.

Alliance Bible Church. It's a mixture of denominations. We usually don't put cartoons in the bulletins.

WELL - I just helped him post the picture from the link. By the way I attend a Roman Catholic Church and our flyers don't post cartoons.

Man, you guys are way too uptight.

I'm a pastor in the Church of the Nazarene, and I put a cartoon on page 6 of the bulletin every week. It's not the focus of the service, but we don't think worship and humor are mutually exclusive. Think about all those folks jumping around, laughing themselves silly and singing songs praising God on the other side of the Red Sea.

Then think about this - I kinda think people chuckled when Jesus spoke of a man trying to remove a speck from someone's eye while ignoring the plank in his own. If the scene were made into a movie, it would be slapstick humor. That's how Jesus made His point sometimes.

Lighten up a little. It's okay to laugh, even when God is watching.

Agreed, provided it's actually funny. Considering that God--at least, the God of the Bible--doesn't see the issue of ownership of the land the way the cartoonist sees it, I think I'll save a chuckle for something else. Peace.

With the exception of the first 2 panels it's a pretty good cartoon. But there were no Jews at the time of the Assyrian diaspora of the Northern Kingdom. Only Israelites.

We agree. When I posted above, the cartoon wouldn't display. I was responding only to the impression I got that humor was out of place in church.
