"Why should someone be able to walk into the Madison Heights city library with a concealed weapon?"

It's not the library building that's the issue, it's the walk in!

They've been doing this in Texas, where the CCW law permits "property owners" from restricting concealed carry - then our allegedly Republican attorney general and current candidate for Senator, John Cornyn, ruled that cities and such are the "property owners" of public property, and as such could ban concealed carry in libraries, public buildings, even city parks and city-owned parking lots.
Making all of these "defense-free" zones.

"Why should someone be able to walk into the Madison Heights city library with a concealed weapon?" asked Sherman.

First because this is the Ubited States of America and public libraries are open to the puvlic and carrying arms is a right of the people that shall not be infringed. Second the Michigan legislature has even authorized people to carry concealed with a permit. This man should not be holding any public office on teh basis of his ignorance of constitutional guarantees of rights.

Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown

the married guys have to keep their expensive toys they dont want their wives to know about.

More expensive than a wife?

Reminds me of the story about the man who didn't report his wife's credit card as stolen,
because the thief was spending less than his wife.

Broward, Palm, and Dade counties tacked on a couple of extra days on the waiting period for purchases. Was this stricken down, too? I wrote Jeb about it a couple years ago when I still lived in that area and got a long, non-response.

I have no idea, but it would be unconstitutional in Florida for that to be done.
