You know I'm what I consider to be "annoyingly libertarian". I don't go out of my way to annoy people, but both conservatives and liberal get all ruffled by my political views - so I think you know what kind of libertarian I am. With that said, I am completely in favor of school dress codes (think catholic school). I'd put EVERYONE in slacks and polo shits, even the women (avoids the whole skirt issue all together). Why? Because high school has become one big fashion show. It's not condusive to learning. With all the liberal crap out kids have to go through in public school, the last thing they need is more distraction by fashions be it modest or not. I know this puts a damper on "freedom" of expression for kids, but in this case, what rights are really being violated by having to wear a uniform to school? It's like a contract that says, "if you want to go to school here, you need to wear these clothes - end of discussion". No conflicts with skirts, or thongs, or gay pride shirts, or WWJD shirts, or rebel flags. Avoids all of it.

Can any of my libertarian cronies reading this thread show me where I'm in error? :-)
