And you're right. But some people seem to think thongs are "the devils panties" (have you ever seen Miss Congeniality?) and will lead to pre-marital sex and a complete breakdown of morals within society (or they are already a contributing factor).

Thongs are The Devil's Panties, and that's what most red-blooded American men love best about them. The issue here is whether or not schools have the constitutional authority to forbid certain behaviors in school or at school-sanctioned events. They do---there's a whole body of Supreme Court decisions to back it up. If this wasn't in school or it wasn't a school-sponsored event, there'd be no event here.The simple fact is that high school students check a few "basic rights" at the schoolhouse door.
