"And she was literally lifting up their skirts and embarrassing them in front of everyone else," one student told 10News."Don't wear the thong, if you can't take the heat. Thong wearers should be immune from embarassment, otherwise why wear it. This story illustrates one of America's biggest problems: "Idiotic Parents". What sane mother is going to defend her daughter wearing thong underwear and a short skirt to a high school dance? They should be angry.... at their slutty daughters.

You're on, bro. I've got 2 on the line now---nothing like a fast 2 bills before 10 AM EDT.

My two cents...
Certain girls have always worn as little as possible, as tight as possible, because they were, frankly, sluts.
Some nicer girls, seeing the sluts get all of the attention, and not realizing it isn't GOOD attention, dress similarly. They don't want to put out, they just want to look like they do.
This has now advanced to the point where exposing full butt cheek in public is now somewhat common. It should only be a quick flash, like you would get when you are dancing, but the sight is there all the same. Thong underwear isn't meant for ease of access, it is meant as advertising. Unfortunately many thick-headed teenage girls don't full understand what they are advertising for.
While it wasn't stated in the article, I would be willing to bet that there have been dances prior to this one and that the "thong underwear" flashing has led to some eye-brow-raising dance floor moves.
Personally, I would never let my teenage girl out the door dressed like that. Teenage girls, though, have been known to change their clothes once they are out of sight of Mom and Dad. While I would be against the school actually raising the skirts of girls as they entered the dance, I would be totally supportive of them sending the little tramps home if they flash on the dance floor.
So am I a Nazi, or what?

well the bet is fine in theory, but it presupposes that suit is filed in the first place. lots of things have to happen for this to see fruition.

"However, what kind of underwear a girl is wearing is none of the school's business, and girls who wear thongs are not sluts because they do wear a thong."
Well, she is just short of being a slut...and she is toeing the line. It is time for society to recognize this. And it is time to let these young gals know they will be viewed as such if they do this. It is totally inappropriate for a highschool aged girl to wear that...just as it would be totally appropriate for her married mother to wear it for her husband if he requested(unbeknownst to her children of course.)

I don't think wearing a thong to a dance alone makes you a slut.(if we want to get technical)
However, dirty dancing grinding and exposig the thong crosses the line.

The school acted correctly IN THIS CASE. Is it possible to have the school act in lieu of the parent in this case, but not act on the same principle in the classroom? (I'm asking sincerely.) It seems to me you can't have it both ways.

Hey this sounds like its straight out of a movie like Porky's

maybe you should read the article, "knee jerk"!
this person WAS from CA, duh!
To: codebreaker
Or the female Vice Principal is interested for other reasons. But you don't really believe that do you? I mean it makes good conversation for a lot of the freepers here.... but really... in your heart you don't believe that do you?

The question remains: is it the role of the school to enforce underwear codes, or the role of the parent to do so? No. The question is does the school have the obligation to enforce anti nudity codes ON THEIR GROUNDS. to wit: Only Short Skirted girls were checked out, and apparently of those, only those with skimpy underwear were singled out.
That should be obvious.

No way, the school will lose big time lawsuits over this depending on how much physical contact there was.
To: NittanyLion
of course it is primarily the role of parents, but there are plenty of irresponsible parents out there. so this is viewed as intrusive because it requires lifting the skirt. what if the infraction was no bra and a sheer top, or say, bikini tops covering very little. would it be different then? is it NOT permissible for schools to have rules for dress that they can then enforce?

However, dirty dancing grinding and exposing the thong crosses the line.Agreed. If the thing wearing leads to inappropriate public displays, the school should step in. I just have a problem with executing a search at the door for underwear not in plain sight.
To: KneelBeforeZod
did she check the boys underwear too...lol

I agree with this statement 100%. We should pool our money and take on all bets.

There can be no other explanation to put yourself at risk to these type of lawsuits unless there is a deep seeded desire on the part of the Vice Principal to torch her own career.(even in the people's republic of Californication)
I'll bet you money she was abused as a kid.
To: codebreaker
This job must not have existed when I took that test in high school telling me what careers I am suited for.
All this time I have been working on a Phd when I should have been working on a TH.d.
