In 2000, Massachusetts voters overwhelmingly approved a ballot initiative, sponsored by MA Libertarians, to roll back the tax rate to 5% from 5.95% over the course of 3 years.

Why do you have a state income tax?

...because, in this state, elected officials can:

Commit vehicular homicide and get re-re-re-re-elected.

Flip their constituents the "bird" when they vote on ballot questions and get re-re-re-elected.

The number of coalitions for (fill in the blank) and humanitarian/social programs that get state funding is staggering.

I'm about to waste some state time and slam out some e-mails.
