Centralizing power in order to right wrongs, or in this case "save the environment" is a two edged sword. It creates a honey pot of power that attracts the big players. Eventually, when enough money is on the table, the chances that the burearacrats will act in the public interest, as opposed to the interests of the powerful, approach zero.

We are now exploring the tail of that curve.


When Clintoon was president, I used to blame such sh*t on him. That was a mistake. Though I am sure he and Hillary did more than their share, our federal bureacracy has grown larger by far than any one person. The destruction of our republic, just in my lifetime, is disgusting.

I agree.. while Clinton was no prize I'm sure we won't hear from the masses on here about the evils and the legacy of the Bush Administration. I'm sure Bush is no more invovled in this crap anymore than Clinton was invovled in some of the crap from his time. In any case that being said I have a feeling this is going to fall down the lines of the Gulf War Disease where they denied denied denied until their was just too much proof to deny it anymore.
