Don't leave out "President of the United States William Jefferson Blythe Clinton".

This brings a question to mind.

What would Ted Kennedy have been like, as the Cardinal of Boston?
He is good at both coverups and Inquisitions. He could save us time by investigating himself.

Discernment is something that escapes you, obviously.
What escapes me is how people like you think they can "interpret" and "discern" their religion, especially if it's the "one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church". What gives you that supernatural knowledge, right or authority to do so? Sounds like you're very comfortable with the that little, special religion that you have tailormade to your liking.

Authority? What authority is needed to reconcile faith with reason?

An unthinking approach to one's faith is just superstition.

That's your problem: reason has nothing to do with faith. Did Moses interpret, discern and reason the Ten Commandments? I think not. But then again, you're in your own, little special religion that can reason, interpret and discern otherwise.

It's obvious you've never read any Thomas Aquinas or any other theologian, for that matter.

It is naivete such as yours that has invested in clerics the kind of blind obedience that has allowed them to move pederasts from parish to parish without so much as a peep.

Trust, but verify.

One question: who do you claim these pederasts obey?. I have never heard a declaration from the Holy See that thou shalt sexually assault altar boys, or,if caught, thou shalt hide the crime/sin. Methinks these actions are the signs of disobedience rather than obedience on the part of the U.S. Bishops and Cardinals to the Holy Father, Faith and Tradition. I think they are obeying Satan, not the Holy Ghost. But there I go "reasoning"!

I stand corrected. Reason and divine intervention leads to faith, but once obtained, faith supercedes.
