Can you tell me some things that he has actually done that are meritorious, in your opinion, for holding firm to the faith?
Ill give you one example. He was invited to speak before one of the umbrella groups for gay Catholics. He got up and promptly started lecturing them about the Catholic view of homosexuality, right down the line. You may not like that he hasnt shut enough of these groups down, but he clearly holds firm to the faith, and is not afraid to speak it.

I think everyone here is making very good points. I think those in the diocese have defended George quite well. I also think History Matters' point about Brady being harsh because of the incredible battle he has fought has to be considered. Rush always said soldiers kill people and break things. Maybe we ought to look at Brady from the perspective of his being a warrior, which means he's not a diplomat at this juncture. V's wife.

That is what I was looking for, and it's encouraging to hear that he did that. It certainly tempers my criticism of him, and makes me believe that my faults with him stem more from my lack of understanding of all the relevant issues (that is, there's more than meet's the eye to what is required to accomplish the things he needs/wants to accomplish).
