------------------------------------------------------------------------Pet store of 'Rocky' fame loses $32 in robbery
Yo, police!
J&M Tropical Fish, the Kensington pet shop where a dreamer named Rocky met a mousy sales clerk named Adrian and bought food for his turtles Cuff and Link in the 1976 film Rocky, was held up yesterday morning, police said.
A man in his late 20s or early 30s walked into J&M, at 2146 N. Front St., shortly after 10 a.m. When owner Joseph Marks asked if he could help the man, he brandished what appeared to be a weapon and demanded money. Marks, 56, gave up $32, and the assailant fled, Marks told police.
J&M, founded by Marks' father, Morris, also served as the pet shop in Rocky II and Rocky V. Asked whether the shop would have been held up had Sylvester Stallone been on the premises, Marks said, with a chuckle: "Probably not."
