Oh how beautiful! Norguist gets to screw both the woman and his contributors!Beats sticking it to the taxpayers! I was certain this would fall on the County's checkbook. I'm glad it didn't.
But I've gotta say... No matter how you slice it, that was a pretty expensive roll in the hay.

She's not unattractive in these shots, and would probably be quite attractive with a smile on her face. From what I've seen on the local news here in MKE (and believe me, we've been bombarded ad-nauseum), these are some pretty complimentary photos. Not that I'd want to besmirch her unimpeachable character or personality or looks, or anything like that.

And now for an unrelated observation & rant! What an doormat his wife must be, to not throw the dog out on his light-rail-pimpin' pinko ass. Look at those 'sad' but 'loyal' eyes. She ought have dumped him, and cleaned him out, long before Figueroa ever had a chance at his (or our!) piggy bank. </rant!> Sorry, that's just my unsolicited (and blatantly judgmental) opinion. She shoulda opened up a can of whoop-ass on him. |

By the way, lest anyone mistake my meaning, the first part (before the rant) was referring to Figueroa. :-)

Not Norquist's wife, who's shown in the photo in the rant part.
Everybody clear on that? ;-)

I saw a blurb about this in the Washington Post today. They did not mention what party Norquist was in so I took a wild guess that he was a Democrat.....Bingo! I was right!

Same down here in Houston. The mayoral race is a nonpartisan election. The only time that candidates are accused of "partisan politics" is when a Republican manages to make it to the run off (twice in over 15 years, and this is a 2 year office).
In the last election cycle, Terry McAwful and the national DNC threw in their support to keep the incumbent in office. The black mayor's campaign had the audacity to post signs saying that the Cuban born opposition candidate was a racist. It certainly is odd seeing signs that say "Sanchez is Anti-Hispanic".

Did you see him carrying the baby while reporters were questioning him this afternoon? Is this a photo of his child?
Certainly it seems to be as much of a prop.

Newt also stepped down when the affair was revealed. Others are not so quick to fall on their swords. They blame everyone but themselves.

I agree. And I do have a problem with what Newt did, but honestly look at what we have in the Congress and Senate today, is Newt really a guy we could afford to lose? He was hammered while the Dope from Hope got a free pass. Bright move on our part. Now Trent Lott, if you want to start cutting...

Did you see him carrying the baby while reporters were questioning him this afternoon? Yea, I saw that too. Funny how every time these RATS are accused of sexual misconduct, suddenly the children come out for the photo-ops! I'm surprised that his 9-year old son, Ben, wasn't there also.
Sounds like the Common Council is taking a "no-confidence" vote this afternoon. Maybe he will be forced to resign after all. Let's see...so far Ament has been forced out, hopefully Norquist will be next. Considering these things usually happen in 3's, who's next?

I agree that it was tough to lose Newt Gingrich. But then there was attempted group of Republicans who attempted to oust him from power anyway.
If it hadn't of been for the affair, they would have tried something else. He still bit the bullet when few other politicians have even considered doing so.

I agree. I had wondered what happend after the Contract with America was sealed. Now it appears he may have been motivated by a need to keep things quiet, who know. Oh well...

His own fault. His wife ought to put and keep him on a very short leash. Don't know I could stand by my man under those circumstances.

Milwaukee Mayor John O. Norquist announced this afternoon that he will dissolve his campaign fund and pay the entire $375,000 settlement in Marilyn Figueroa's sexual harassment complaint against the city. OH MY!!!!! Well, well, well! Keep us posted, this has been such a soap opera.
