OK...Fair enough...
Basically, I know there is a God. I mean, how couldn't there be? With all this world has to offer us. It didn't just "Happen".
But I don't buy into any religion per-say. Based on one simple, undeniable FACT...(Even you can't argue with this)...
There are a lot of "Religions" but common sense tells us that only one can be correct in their beliefs. But yet, all of them are CONVINCED their view is correct...Of that, I have no doubt. So, I supect none of them are "The one true faith".
In other words...I refuse to believe that my little ol' grandmother, who did absolutely nothing but make people happy and content her entire life, is burning in hell simply because a Christian, Jew, Muslim, Hindu or whatever else, says so. I believe she is with God today...Doing what makes her happy...Making others happy.
I hope that's good enough for you? But, it doesn't matter to me either way...
In the heat of our battle yesterday somehow I missed this one from you. Your words spoken true and obviously from the heart here are good enough for me. Glad to know you aren't an aetheist and I will rescind that charge to beg your pardon.
Now as to the remainder of our day long duo yesterday, I would like to make these final points. Even if you are correct (and I doubt it with all my heart),that the remaining Davidians killed themselves and their children in the end, have you asked yourself would this tragedy have occurred if the BATF had never served the warrant in the manner they did to begin with?
Then, when the BATF initiated their raid on the Davidian church/home, knowing full well that there were innocent men, women, infants, children, and the elderly inside that church/home, when one of their very first acts was to shoot and kill the family and children's dogs located in front of the church , meaning they had to fire toward the church where all those folks were inside, were their acts not reckless and negligent child endangerment from the very beginning? From the planning, to the staging, to the execution? Since when are not these negligent and reckless acts alone not chargeable offenses? Since when do we allow LEO's to act with such reckless and wanton abandonment?
Bottomline, set aside for now who was responsible for the tragic results some 51 days later and in the end. Noone responsible has ever been charged for those initial crimes committed when they should have been. Had justice been served, and the criminally negligent agents responsible for this reckless child endangerment in the first place been properly charged at the very beginning... say from day two of the siege...then Davidians seeing this would have known our system to be just and fair.
But no. What we saw was stonewalling and arrogance on the part of our fed.gov. Their attitude being: we were righteous and they were wrong. They fired first and we had no choice but to shoot up the church and everything inside and out...til we ran out of ammo and forced to retreat. We did no wrong. We did not endanger those children.
