Giving Iraq the Heads up? Is it wise?

We have been beating the war drum on Iraq since last November.

That is 6 months

What I don't understand is that there have been reports of Iraqi cells in this country and the reports that Iraq has not forgotten the Persian Gulf War and desires to see millions of Americans destroyed.

Why is it then that we have been openly saying that he is next (Iraq), thus giving "him" time to organize a terrorist strike against us?

I don't believe this makes sense whatsoever.

When you beat the war drums, countries like Iraq start preparing and mobilizing and thus "tip their hands". Remember we have lots of eyes in the sky (and I bet on the ground). Think about what people do when you warn them of pick pockets... they check their wallets. Then you know where they keep their cash. Similar theory.

I think we're reloading. Stocks of cruise and hellfire missiles are way, way down. We probably need a good deal of aircraft maintenance, too.

Despite what they're saying, it's not a fait accompli. Iraq knows what must be done to avoid an invasion and they'll get a chance to do it. But a terrorist strike would seal the deal, and Iraq would cease to exist as a nation. It's in their hands.

To scare saddam into a first strike situation or a terrorist strike against the U.S. which would be all that President Bush would need to go in and clean house.

Excellent point, Rhombus. Ol' Sad Ham needs all the advanced notice he can get...we ARE watching...I mean after the last "mother of all wars" which turned out to be a weekend slaughter, he will probably want to get his affairs in order and hide as much oil money in Switzerland as possible just in case he "survives" a coup and/or a Marine Corps Sniper...wouldn't mind taking the top of his head off myself...

because iraq is probably not next Then again... who knows? But I think, the better question would be who thinks that they are NOT on the list?
