I shouldn't get into a banter about this with you, because I know that we're on the same side. Abortion is an evil, mortal sin and cruel and hateful crime.

Bill Simon IS pro-life. He has stated such. He opposes abortion.

Gray Davis IS a liberal pro-abort. He supports abortion on demand throughout the entire nine months of pregnancy. He thinks that little girls should be taken to abortion mills without their parents knowledge or consent. That teen-agers should be given birth control. That pharmacists distribute abortion pills.

To people like you and me, we want Bill Simon to preach from the tallest mountain that abortion is wrong, that it's evil, that Davis is the extremist. But the fact remains: MOST PEOPLE DO NOT CARE.

Believe me, it hurts me personally to know that so many people are indifferent when it comes to abortion. I want to show them the pictures of aborted babies so they will KNOW what abortion is. But an election year is NOT the time to educate about abortion, and it's NOT the time for Bill Simon to come out and talk about it. Bill Simon needs to focus on the issues that the majority of Californian's vote on: economy, economy, economy and education. He is. He's focused.

It's up to US, the activists, to go after Gray Davis on these issues. Bill Simon isn't going to call us extremist or tell us to shut up or that we're in the minority. We better help Simon by being the pit bulls in the campaign, the people who support him and tell the world the evils of Davis.

Simon can then be above it all, talking to the people who don't care about abortion and the homosexual perversion in our public schools. Because while it's sad, it's true: people just don't care. And it's more important to have Simon WIN and be in a position to support the pro-life movement, then lose and be a has been. Simon isn't going to change his mind on abortion ... he's just not going to do it. He's one of us. I want him as Governor because he'll listen to us.

He's not going to listen if we stab him in the back because he doesn't do everything we want him to do. As long as he doesn't flip-flop -- and I'm 100% confident that he won't -- he deserves our full support.

I'll admit i'm pro-choice, but I'd vote for Simon over Davis anyday, as Simon has a clear, well-thought-out economic plan for California. It would not be incredibly hard to privitize the electricity, but ever-so-fruitful to the small businesses, a core part of the U.S. economy. Hopefully, he can also create the seperation of labor-union, and school curriculum, and state.

They don't care because pro-life politicians usually never bring it up. Politicians are leaders by definition. If they don't lead the people on this issue, then who will?

It's up to US, the activists, to go after Gray Davis on these issues.

Well, no one will give a damn what Helmsman has to say about Gray Death, of that I can be sure. But they might just listen to Bill Simon, you think?

As long as he doesn't flip-flop -- and I'm 100% confident that he won't -- he deserves our full support.

I can't see why. He's already made it clear that he will do nothing to stop abortion in your state, not even those abortions that the majority of Californians oppose themselves. If he won't fight, then he's worthless. I know that you enthusiastically support him, Gophack, but you're doing it for reasons other than abortion. You know that what I'm telling you about Simon is true, but you seem to have resigned yourself. Well, when all pro-lifers resign themselves to the status-quo, that's when we will have lost this struggle. Perhaps we already have. It's becoming increasingly clear to me that abortion won't be finished by the pro-life movement, it will probably be finished by technology, ultimately. It will be finished in ways, and by means, which you will no doubt find immoral. But the irony will be that those who cared most for the unborn were the ones who were least effective in protecting them. As for me, I'll take an end to abortion however I can get it. But that certainly won't be through politicians like Simon.
