The abduction and police hunt for an 8-month-old girl of wealthy Maori parents has stunned New Zealand, a land where such crime is virtually unknown.
Brandishing a shotgun, a masked man leapt out of a car, grabbed tiny Kahu Durie from her stroller, jumped back into the vehicle and sped away Saturday.
Police said Thursday the kidnapper has not contacted authorities or the girl's parents -- a high-ranking judge and a prominent lawyer who are both indigenous Maori.
