President Bush, the Republic of Taiwan Loves You
. .
The rather silly caption with these picts was
A group of activists in favor of Taiwan's independence from China holds placards thanking U.S. President George Bush in front of Washington's semi-official American Institute in Taiwan April 16, 2002. Earlier in the month Bush called Taiwan the "Republic of Taiwan" and a "country" in an apparent slip of the tongue during a speech. The U.S. later told China Bush made a mistake when he referred to Taiwan is such a way. Taiwan and China have been political rivals since a 1949 civil war split. REUTERS/Simon Kwong
And we don't even say they are a country because the communist regime in China says they own these people.
Time to officially recognize Taiwan.
Like everywhere else, they have some bad apples. But on the whole, I found them to be freedom loving and a whole lot closer to what that means than most folks here in the USA. Of course, that's not hard to understand when you are a small, free nation living 90 miles from a very large tyranical one ... one that has killed tens of millions of its own people, people are who are these folks relatives.
In addition, I found them extremely respectful of our foundations and the principles that undergird those foundations ... and generally pretty knowledgable regarding the same.
My impression was that they would gladly be our 51st state if we would let them. They genuinely love this nation.
All this despite the betrayal of liberty and republoican principles that we dealt them in the 1950's and again in 1978.
It is for them, in part, that I am writing my series of books called DRAGON'S FURY ... but mainly for us in this country.

Chiang Kai-Shek, founder of Taiwan, with Mayling Soong (Madame Chiang Kai-shek). Mayling Soong lives in New York City, and is 105 years old.
OK.
What say we call it
Taiwan, The FRee Republic of China!
Me too and what a fabulous people.
There is something about FReedom that makes Human Beings especially beautiful, eh?
Yair.
I'll believe they were "slips of the tongue."
Right after I start believing that the psychopathological, Peking-based pack of 250 invading, colonizing, mass-murdering, racketeering-gangster bastards that calls itself "china" is other than a psychopathological, Peking-based pack of 250 invading, colonizing, mass-murdering, racketeering-gangster bastards!
Taiwan will never be part of China again, which as far as I can see it almost never HAS been in history....
UNLESS it takes over the Mainland and annexes the latter to its own republic and system. Whales have been swallowed before, and this one is just needing a good push right now, to have its whole system changed.
I am certain, that one day, their struggle will bear fruit and that China will be free ... the whole of it.
I am afraid that there are some awfully hard times still laying ahead, between now and then however.
Although the first book is a build up, ultimately the plight they face will be a major part of my series of books. I am writing book two now and am just now writing about the direct conflict where an emboldened mainland, which has won some stunning victories and completely isolated the ROC, then turns is attention to them.
What ensues will be a tribute to those people and their love for liberty ... a macro version of the warsaw ghetto fight of World War II.
But I better not give away too much, there are many people anxiously waiting for that book two! LOL!

Best regards and God's richest blessings to you and yours.
Yes, it's time to recognize them and tehn we should ask tehm for a base to replace the Subic Bay station in the Phillippines. We should also keep tehm armed with whatever they need to keep the Reds out of their hair.
I'm not usually this much of an internationalist, but the Taiwanese are our allies and our friends and the Red Chinese have missiles pointed at us. They are the enemy. We should arm our friends against our enemy. That sounds liek national interest to me.
Avoid and resist those who threaten you, take abject advantage of you, hold views in direct contradiction to the principles of liberty and the fundamental values upon which it rests.
When you cut away all of the rhetoric, all of the globalism, all of the politics and powermongering and boil it down to basics ... it is obvious where our path should lead.
I agree.
As far as the name, my opinion is any name they want to be recognized under is fine.
