My wife was born a mile from me.

We met at the tender age of three.

Volumes of geneology.

Depict but a single tree.

THE BLUES BUSTERS,
SHAME AND SCANDAL

Woe, misery
Shame and scandal in the family
Woe, misery
Shame and scandal in the family

In Trinidad/Jamaica there was a family
With much confusion as you will see
It was a momma and a papa and a boy who was grown
Wanted to marry a wife of his own
Found a young girl suited him nice
Went to his papa to ask his advice
His papa said: "Son, I have to say no,
That girl is your sister, but your momma don't know"

A week went by and the summer came down
Soon the best cook in the island he found
He went to his papa to make a day
His papa shook his head and to him he did say
"You Can't marry that girl I have to say no
That girl is your sister, but your momma don't know"

He went to his momma and covered his head
And told his momma what his papa had said
His momma she laughed, she says: "Go man, go
Your papa ain't your papa, but your papa don't know

Regarding the Bourbons, Hapsburgs, Cabots and Lees, only the Bourbons and Hapsburgs are cousins. The Hohenzollerns and most of the British Royal Family over the ages are part of the same big old family. The Brits, however, bring in "fresh blood" from time to time.

There was a time in America where women were so rare that it was acceptable for grown men to marry girls who were barely out of childhood, and to maybe even marry a first cousin.

Makes us mean as can be in war - foreign terrorists beware!!! And when we are done with you, and you are buried, maybe some of your widows can get a green card and come on over and find out what real men are like.

Contrary to popular belief, cousins don't marry cousins in Alabama!

I beg your pardon? Church records indicate otherwise.

"The marriages that I should prefer for our colony would be between cousins. In that way, we should be sure of honesty of soul and purity of blood." -- Pierre Samuel du Pont de Nemours.

"If your family tree don't fork, you might be a redneck."--Jeff Foxworthy.

Spot the difference.
