On some other thread, the Ark was announced as being at "the 13,000 foot level." This time, it's more like 15,000 feet. Anyway, I was intrigued enough to do the math for how much additional water all over the earth it would take to float a boat to 13000 feet. It was, IIRC, a bit more than a doubling of the published figure for the hydrosphere we have now.

Fifteen thousand feet adds a lot more water.

Unless Ararat, that very active mountain, rose up that far after the flood.

Which would decrease the likelihood that a wooden boat would survive, but I'm skeptical that there is anything on that mountain that would interest anyone but a tourist shark. G-d doesn't tend to leave footprints.
