One can defend Israel without trashing the United States. One can defend Israel without bashing the Pope, without suggesting as one freeper did that Powell is the biggest threat there is to American security and Israel should drop an Atomic bomb on Germany for what Germans who are dead already did to Jews 60+ years ago.

You don't want the United States brought down by a defense of Israel.
I'm not real sure what else, at this point, the United States can do. The Palestinians are on the side of al-Qaeda and Hamas and Hezbollah.
The Israelis are trying to keep their population from being destroyed, five or six or ten at a time as they go about their daily lives.
I meant no "character assassination" or anything else sinister.
But we cannot walk away from defending Israel. Not if we have any conscience.
